Got the Blues?

Hello again,
Today, I wanted to make a card for the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog Challenge #70 using a doily. This past weekend, I went to the local card convention in Mesa, AZ and I purchased many diecuts from Cheery Lynn Designs. I just LOVE the delicate details of all the diecuts, I sure wish I could own them all! I was lucky to win the first place card contest on Saturday, so that sure helped out quite a bit in getting lots of goodies! That also helped me feel a little better after a recent death close to our family. However, my daughter is still having a really hard time...that is where I got the theme for today..."got the blues?"

This little 5 x 5 card has 4 diecuts from Cheery Lynn Designs. The main focus is the doily in the background it is called "Italian Flourish". I fussy cut out the blue cardstock behind the doily background so the doily could really pop off the card. I then used a slightly lighter blue to match my copic markers that I have and diecut a "victorian romance flourish" from Cheery Lynn for the left hand bottom corner. On the bottom, is another new diecut that I purchased called "border carnivale" I really like the thickness of it and it has really amazing details.

The adorable little hearts are called "two of hearts" are part of the doilies and exotic dies. There are 2 different sizes in the package, I used the smaller of the two because of the size of my card, next time I sure will bringing out the big one so you can see it. I placed the sentiment, printed from the computer, in the center on a smaller heart and then framed it in blue cardstock. The little bear with torn patches is a stamp that I bought years ago from Stamps By Judith. I sure wish I could color better but for this card it worked out great for the mood of blue. To finish the card I added navy blue ribbon, liquid pearls and buttons. No flowers??? lol...I'm thinking you sure don't need them for all the diecuts are just as beautiful as flowers....love it!

I usually don't finish insides very often...mostly because I make cards but don't send very many out? Sad huh? But this card I did finish the inside because I want to give it to my daughter who is having the blues....sigh....I used navy blue cardstock and cut another "victorian romance flourish" and then just added liquid pearls around the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and send some "Cheery" thoughts my way for my daughter. Im also hoping that I can be a Guest Designer for Cheery Lynn Designs in the near future...
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.... :)
Hugs
xoxo

Lisa, I am sorry for your loss and the hard time your daughter is having. This card is sure to cheer her up. Very lovely design and that bear is just too cute. Did you know there is an angel wing for the Italian Flourish doily so you would not have to hand cut it? Good luck and thanks for joining in on the fun at Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog.
