Peace Be with You

A new card that I made while my children were entertaining their father on his birthday! I snuck away for a tiny bit and whipped out this teal card. :) I made a card using these colors for Heartfelt Creations and I sent that for their display boards. So I really wanted to get these colors out again. Lots of layering of diecuts..I really couldn't make up my mind what to use? so I just kept layering...lol
I was feeling a little Becca, while I was making this card...although her cards are way over the top...my dream sometime....I decided to use a peaceful saying for this card and when my Roxy read it she said
 "and also with you"
That is what I was thinking so it definitely gets the point across. :)
God give us more peace in our lives.

My pearl supply is getting smaller and smaller...oh no! so I used lots of liquid pearls.
As for the spellbinders diecuts, I used labels 20, fancy tags, floral ovals, and morocan accents.

The SEI floral pattern paper has a little shimmer to it...so it really shines in the daylight.
The tiny roses are prima, after my pirate card...i needed some flowers again!

Have a great day and peace be with you!

Happy Birthday Old Buzzard!

Hi, Today is my husband's birthday :)
He is only 45 but we have this joke about calling each other old buzzard's sometimes....mostly becasue it gets harder to wake up for work in the morning and we tend to go to bed early....so we feel like old buzzards....lol
So I wanted to make him a card with a buzzard and yet I needed it to be manly...I have had this pirate paper for a long time...so I finally used it. I also made the treasure chest out of black cardstock. I stamped woodgrain from Heartfelt Creations and embossed it in gold ink. I didnt have any gold coins so they are made out of gold paper and embossed with my cuttlebug. It is the same measurements as the tissue box in my earlier post.

The balloons and bubble were made with my cricut and I just added quilling paper for strips and cut out one of the jolly roger's and glued it to the top of the balloon. The buzzard is a clipart printed out and I colored it with copic markers.

This is the first manly card I have made since Feb! Yikes!
Have a great day!

Get Well Soon "Tissue Box Card"

Hello everyone!
I sure hope you are having a great Sunday....we just had a ton of rain here in the Valley and well now Im sure it is super sticky! YUK!
So once again I was browsing at pinterest for inspiration for a "Get Well Soon" Card for a family member who has really had a rough year with illness and surgeries...
That is when I seen the cutest and one of the most creative cards I have seen in a while...it is a tiny tissue box on the card with a piece of tissue in it! Omgosh! Pure genius! You can see the original here
So here is my interpretation of the tissue box card.

I wanted to make it vintage looking since that has been my thing lately :)
I used spellbinders "Floral Ovals" in the background and for the little tissue hole I used "Classic Ovals" and "Lacey Ovals" After I diecut them, I added pearls to the edges. They are the super duper tiny ones that worked out perfectly. Since the tissue is white I added touches of white using the satin ribbon and framing the patterned paper in white. I distressed the edges not only because I tend to do it a lot but because it made it look like torn tissue paper. lol

The sentiment I printed up on the computer using 2 different fonts...I really love that look :)

So here is the tissue box before it is glued down to the card.
My box is 3D so if you pull out the tissue you can see the inside, which is the back of the patterned paper from K & Company. The tutorial for the original has just a top piece and a little larger.
I needed my box to be a bit smaller to fit on the diecut, so here is my measurements:

2 inches x 3 inches times 2,
Then score both pieces at the .25 inches all the way around.
Next...diecut tissue opening...BEFORE you glue edges.
(I actually did that and that is how I ended up making it a full box, but I like it)
Cut a slit on each corner and glue together.
Place back piece inside front and glue together.
Lastly place a small piece of tissue inside.

Finished tissue box....almost Barbie size...just love it :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!

A True Friend Remembers...

Hi, and welcome back to a new card that I made for a friend of mine.
Her birthday is around the corner and I wanted to make a kind-of vintage colored card....she is getting old...lol...just kidding!
Lots of layering again with spellbinders diecuts and I distressed with ink on the background paper.
There is also lots and lots of bling here too...just love bling!

The roses are made with "Bitty Blossoms" and I just added fairy dust glitter for the extra shine.

The quoteis made from microsoft word with 2 different fonts to fit in the center of the diecut. I added a pearl on a brad to give it a little extra something.
On the bottom right hand corner is a tag from Graphic 45.

Hope she loves the card...
Have a great day!

Heartfelt Wednesday's *Berry Sweet*

Hello my "berry" close friends! Today, I'm sharing with you a new layout that I made for Heartfelt Creations using their NEW "Classic Editions" collection. I really love the new raspberries, but let me tell you how I was struggling to find just the perfect layout to display them!  First of all, I am not the best colorer, but I really tried to make these berries shine with my favorite color "RED" :)
This photo of Roxy kind of reminded me of how someone would be out in the garden with her hat on....btw...that nose ring...is just faux....she knows how mother would just stroke out!

As you can see here I used some pop dots make those berries pop out at you too!

Here can kind of see the shine that I added to all the berries....yum!

So I had to add some little garden signs to my garden raspberry theme...just a little journaling and the title on them.

Thanks "berry" much for stopping by....be sure to check out all the wonderful creations this week made with the Heartfelt Creations stamps, diecuts and NEW paper line!
Hugs!

Sharing In Your Sorrow

Good Morning scrappers!
Today I made a sympathy card for a challenge over at sb.com and I also used a sketch from
 "stuck on u sketches"
It is great sketch because there are endless possibilities. This is their very first card sketch, so im excited to be part of the ground floor. Here is the sketch:

I made a sympathy card, since I don't have any in my stash and unfortunately when you need one that making one quickly can be hard. :(
I decided to go with green, cream and white. For some reason to me the colors feel soothing to me?
This is a 4 x 6 card, it is a bit smaller than I usually make because it is hard for me to put all the little details that I want on a card. I didnt want to add flowers today...weird huh?
I went with the little birds from Heartfelt Creations, tiny branches and some ribbons.

I've been trying to layer some of my cards with multiple diecuts to change it up a bit.

I finished off the card with a bit of pearls.

Hope you have a great Monday!
Thanks for stopping by...

You're So Sweet! *Willy Wonka*

Hello, and Happy Sunday!
Well, last night I was still trying to work on this lollipop card but I couldn't stop thinking about "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" so I combined the 2 into 1 card. There are chocolate swirls in the background with lots of bright red mushrooms and of course the lollipops!

The lollipops are .25 inch piece of felt in red and white and rolled together. I added a 1.25 inch red paper in the back with pipe cleaners for the stick. I was looking EVERYWHERE in my scrap room because I really know I have candy sticks? After looking for a while (like 2 hours) I gave up...sigh....they will probably show up tomorrow! lol

The large chocolate swirls was made with my cricut "storybook", the mushrooms also with my cricut "walk in my garden" and the thin chocolate swirls was made from "bella rose die" from Heartfelt Creations. I printed the font on my computer and chalked all the edges with brown ink.

Well, I hope you have a really sweet sunday!
Thanks for stopping by...

Pure Imagination....Wonka Bar

Happy Saturday!
Yesterday, I had a wonderful birthday with my family and I will always cherish it.
I was looking to make some new cards and I sometimes get inspiration from sb.com challenges. One of the challenges was asking for a lollipop card since it is lollipop month? lol
Anyways, I started to browse on pinterest when somehow I came across a card that looked like a chocolate bar...yum! I decided to make something like it using my cricut. I changed the colored paper, title, added some pop dots and a chocolate ribbon. When I went back to find out who made the original card I couldnt find it anywhere? Im sooo sorry...if anyone knows let me know too! Wait...I found it...here is the original....

Here is a great side view, seeing those chocolate pieces pop right off the card. I chalked the edges to give a little dimension too. The title is printed from the computer on a spellbinders "fancy tag" . Since then I cant stop humming that song!! Willy Wonka is in my head now.

The orange stripe paper is from Michael's recollection. I had a little piece from another project. I keep all my scraps in a huge box. So it worked out perfectly!

Thanks for stopping by....hope this card brings some imagination to you too!

So, I made this card yesterday....it is pink....and well, Im a red girl...but I figured somewhere down the road a girl birthday would come up and I would be ready...lol

I layered a few spellbinders diecuts and played around with the layering of the edge punch.
So, I was totally fighting to make this bow!! It took me like forever! idk....what my deal was?

I added some bling and a pearl brad. I just love the how girly it came out... :)

Well, it is a quick post for today!
Happy Birthday!!!

Timeless *Donna Salazar*

Good Morning my scrappy friends!
It's Lisa once again sharing with you a shabby chic, fairy tale layout made for one of my amazing DT girls. If you have been following Donna's Salazar's Blog, then you probably know that Donna had this great idea to exchange photos with each other every month for the next 6 months. In the end, we will have our own scrapbook with lots of wonderful artwork from each person...how exciting is that! I cant wait to give and receive some artwork that I will treasure forever!
So my first picture is from Mandy Harrell. It is her little girl and she is such a super doll! She was looking like a princess to me with that adorable smile and wearing a pink tulle skirt. I originally, was going to title it "enchanting" since the design is in a fairy tale type theme....but when I spoke to Mandy for a little input for a title and journaling, she told me that this was a rare photo in time because her daughter was so calm in this photo and usually she is wild with a little dirty face...lol....so that is when I decided to title it "Timeless" :)

Here you can see a closer view of the "Floral Oval" mirror that I made out of corrugated board from Donna. It is really pretty IRL. I ran the floral oval diecut several times through the machine since it has so many intricate details, then I inked it with my favorite white ink "Mix'd Media Inx- Jasmine" and embossed it with "Jasmine Embossing Powder". I diecut an oval with silver cardstock to resemble a mirror and framed it with dusty pink paper. On top of the mirror is a "Fancy Tag 2" cut in white and cream cardstock with the title and journaling.

I wanted a vintage type flower in lace but I didn't have one.....so I just made one and placed a crystal brad in the center. The little clock for my timeless theme is just a clipart clock ran through the computer. I also made a new kind of rose in pink and added lots on "Fairy Dust Glitter- Sugar Shimmer" I really love how it gives lots of bling to a flower.

Lots of fun Donna products here!
The "Bitty Blossoms" are just my favorite thing to make lately...I tell you if you don't have them it sure is a great investment....I can stop making them and neither will you! lol I used more "Mix'd Media Inx" in Jasmine on the flourish chipboard by Want 2 Scrap, but I also used the "Chiffon" Mix'd Media Inx on the light pink flower. It was originally in white. I made my own background paper using "Pralines & Cream" Smooch on the cream cardstock with a swirl mask. The pink cardstock is stamped with "Stanza" music and embossed using more "Mixd Media Inx" Vintage and "Embossing Powder" in Honey. This is also the same colors for the leaves too. All the bling is from Want 2 Scrap, I cut up one of the bling into 3 pieces.

A 3D view with a reflection of the mirror and even the photo....lol
The lace skirt under the mirror is a doily, I cut the center out and then I cut it in half with folds.

So, I hope you enjoyed my project today....but I REALLY hope Mandy likes it!
Have a Great Day!
Hugs!!

Nature's Beauty

Hello again for the 2nd time today! lol
I have been making several layouts for just ME....and lately I have been doing this monochromatic colors over at sb.com. I didn't really realize that I really like making those types of layouts? I'm always trying to think of colors to mix together and well, I guess I really like them simple in colors...or at least this month I have been.
So, here is the last of the color palette...it is new mown grass...When I was thinking of the color, I thought of the green outside and the forest. So i wanted to add some cute "Disney" characters. They are "bambi" and bambi's mother. I used some old prima flowers and felt that I have had for a while. I masked in the background and used lots of diecuts and flowers....
This is an old picture of Roxy standing in the front of our home. It is a huge tree...next to lots of cactus...lol

here is a closer view of my disney characters, they are just coloring book pages and I fussy cut them out and then colored them with my copic markers.

You can see the 3D look with all the flowers, title and fawn.

Hope you are inspired by nature with my mighty green layout!

Here you can see I added lots of layer and pop dots between the the pumpkins and that adorable little doggie. Isn't he so cute?

I have had this brown bling since I first started out with HC. I bought it a while ago, and it is the perfect swirl for a autumn day. I punched out a bunch of leaves and stamped on the kraft ones with HC stamps.

Sea Breeze "1953"

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are having a great day!
So, Im still on this beach theme and I started to make a layout this afternoon with no idea how it was going to turn out. I wanted to get my hands a bit dirty and play with some embossing paste that I bought quite a while ago and never used it yet. I misted with smooch and grunged up and torn all the papers. I also used an old bubble punch and kept the pieces to scatter on the top right hand corner and the bottom left hand corner.

This is a real original photo of my grandmother, my aunt and uncle, and my father (in the center). I few times in the past I have scanned the original and then scrapbooked it...not today though. I thought I should just use the original and cherish it as it was meant to be. It was taken in 1953 on the beach. Only 59 years? Where does the time go? I was thinking as I was placing the photo in the frame....on how much I miss my grandmother and father. My grandmother passed on when I was 11 years old. She was the best grandma in the whole world. My father passed on just over 2 years ago...I wish them both so very much. My journaling reflects in I could go back in time....
There are several photos that my grandmother cherished very much. I claimed them when my father passed away. My mother told me that my grandmother would have been soooo happy to know that I cherish them as much as she did and that they will stay in the family. It sure bought tears to my eyes to hear that...so very special.

This chipboard frame I found at Michael's in the dollar section. I used embossing paste to give it an old weathered beach look.

I used real shells and I had these prima flowers for a super long time. They were are perfect match....I didnt so a thing to them except add a pearl and glue them down. :) The fence in from Heartfelt Creations called "Garden Romance" I really love using them lately.

I have been journaling on tags lately. They are small enough to place on my layouts since I have such HUGE handwriting. The swirls and the birds are also from HC.

A little closer view of the embossing paste and using the leftover punch pieces. I also made the swirl background paper just misting away....

Thanks for stopping by today.....this layout has a very special place in my heart and I will always cherish it forever. I also really appreciate all comments for it surely touches my heart.
I am entering this layout over at Inkido. Be sure to come on over and play for a incredible RAK over at Inkido too!
Hugs!

My Shabby Guest Bedroom

Hi, sharing with you my inspiration for making lots of shabby chic layouts lately.
This is my guest bedroom that I recently made over for my mother....it still needs a few things, like a chandelier, rugs, and a few pictures, mirrors on the walls... :)
It is on the list of things to do.... lol
This is a bed from the Iron Factory it is super heavy! I chose comforters from the Shabby Chic Collection at Target...they are pretty cheap and since my son works there...I got a little discount. :)

Here is the matching daybed with the same comforters, except I added some more pillows on it and a cream micro fleece blanket....so cozy!

I just love this lamp...it is also from Target :)
The flowers are from the dollar store and the little cup/vase is actually a toothbrush holder from the Shabby Chic Collection....lol...I just took the top off :) The photo frame I found at Marshall's and I just put one of my favorite photos of the kids in it.

So these are some fabulous chairs that are made with Chenille that I found at Marshall's and the cute little table is soooo shabby! I put a matching taller lamp and some candles on the table with a photo of my mother. Muah!

These are on top of a shabby white bookcase. I took this photo before I put a photo in the frame....

A view while I am standing next to the shabby white bookcase, windows and the sliding glass door to the outside.
Super old TV from the kids....but hey it still works! lol

Well, thanks for stopping by my new "shabby" guest bedroom!
Have a great day!
xoxo
