Gingerbread Men

Good Morning!
TGIF and I was able to get the day off today! YAY!
I made this card the other night and getting to post it this morning. A new Christmas card using  the same paper collection that I used a couple cards back called "Noel" from American Crafts. I just love the vintage colors. I distressed the edges again too.

This time I wanted to add a couple of gingerbread men. They are diecuts from Cheery Lynn Designs "gingerbread family" I added wiggle eyes to them.  The flowers are part of my stash and the "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from Bo Bunny.  I just fussy cut it out and added pop dots behind it.

A closer view.  I love my bow maker. It makes bows so easy to make.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great Friday!

Pop Up... Piano Card

Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a nice weekend and a wonderful Valentines Day!
So today I'm sharing with you a card that I made for this week's Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge  #172-Shaped Card. It can be anything other than a square. Since I make lots of rectangles I thought I would try something new. OK, I know this piano card has been around here and there...however, I made mine from scratch. I have been wanting to make a crd like this for a very long time. I just used the standard 5 x6 size that I like and turned it sideways. It basically opens like a regular card would that you would buy from the store. The curve I just free handed and fussy cut out. Lots of cheery lynn flowers, leaves and flourishes on this card.

I made the pop up part by just folding paper back and forth. So it can be placed in an envelope and mailed. The doily I cut in half and stamped the sentiment on it. There is also a cheery lynn butterfly inside but it was hard for me to get the right angle for a photo....sorry.

Here is a closer view....also my triple bow again! This time I placed a miniature rose on top.
The piano part is a 1 inch white strip. I drew lines with a marker in black every .5 inches and then added a .25 x .75 inch cut up black paper for the keys. Pretty easy just takes a little time.

Here you can kind of see the butterfly....lol
I made my card with a third part so that is where I will place my personal sayings.

I used the Victorian romance flourish inside too, white cardstock and pink cardstock on the front.

So I was planning to use this inside on the back but it as a bit too much so I made it into a bookmark that I could send with the card, since it does match.

Another view....same size piano instructions as above and I added the scalloped punch in pink  and black cardstock to enhance it a bit more.

Cheery Lynn Diecuts Used:

DL151 Victorian Romance Flourish
DL Exotic Butterflies Small #2
DL102 French Pastry
B178 Flourish Leaf Strip
B241 Rose Leaf Strip
B152 Miniature Rose

So I hope you enjoyed my piano card today. It did take a bit longer to make, but I'm happy with the ending result.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Thanks! Mojo Monday #378

Happy Holiday everyone!
I hope you are having a great holiday season with family and friends.
Today, Im sharing with a new card made for this week's Mojo Monday #378.
A beautiful sketch as always and lots of layers on my card. I originally was planning on making a
New Years Eve card, however it took a turn a twist into more of a country shabby look? I dont have any thank you cards in my stash, so I figured I sure could use some quickly.

The papers are from Donna Salazar, I have had them for a while now.
They match up so nicely!

The wooden clock is part of my stash, sorry I dont remember who made it :(
Added ribbon and pearls....but no flowers! lol
I fussy cut some extra butterflies from an extra patterned paper and placed pop dots behind them.

I used the same paper in the front for the inside too....it is just beautiful!

Here is wonderful sketch this week!
LOVE!

Sea Breeze "1953"

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are having a great day!
So, Im still on this beach theme and I started to make a layout this afternoon with no idea how it was going to turn out. I wanted to get my hands a bit dirty and play with some embossing paste that I bought quite a while ago and never used it yet. I misted with smooch and grunged up and torn all the papers. I also used an old bubble punch and kept the pieces to scatter on the top right hand corner and the bottom left hand corner.

This is a real original photo of my grandmother, my aunt and uncle, and my father (in the center). I few times in the past I have scanned the original and then scrapbooked it...not today though. I thought I should just use the original and cherish it as it was meant to be. It was taken in 1953 on the beach. Only 59 years? Where does the time go? I was thinking as I was placing the photo in the frame....on how much I miss my grandmother and father. My grandmother passed on when I was 11 years old. She was the best grandma in the whole world. My father passed on just over 2 years ago...I wish them both so very much. My journaling reflects in I could go back in time....
There are several photos that my grandmother cherished very much. I claimed them when my father passed away. My mother told me that my grandmother would have been soooo happy to know that I cherish them as much as she did and that they will stay in the family. It sure bought tears to my eyes to hear that...so very special.

This chipboard frame I found at Michael's in the dollar section. I used embossing paste to give it an old weathered beach look.

I used real shells and I had these prima flowers for a super long time. They were are perfect match....I didnt so a thing to them except add a pearl and glue them down. :) The fence in from Heartfelt Creations called "Garden Romance" I really love using them lately.

I have been journaling on tags lately. They are small enough to place on my layouts since I have such HUGE handwriting. The swirls and the birds are also from HC.

A little closer view of the embossing paste and using the leftover punch pieces. I also made the swirl background paper just misting away....

Thanks for stopping by today.....this layout has a very special place in my heart and I will always cherish it forever. I also really appreciate all comments for it surely touches my heart.
I am entering this layout over at Inkido. Be sure to come on over and play for a incredible RAK over at Inkido too!

Bridal Shower Card #4

Welcome Back,
Well today I was lucky enough to have a low work load day....so of course I'm in my scraproom! lol....so I received more info on the bridal shower theme and more specific colors. So this is what I came up with today. I distressed the edges, used beach colors and a wine stamp. As other scrappers/card makers know....photos don't give the true display of how really beautiful they are in real life...but i tried to take some good photos... wink! I have used a similar design recently and had lots of feedback at sb.com....must be eye appealing? I have to admit I love the shape of the card more than a standard shaped card...it is more elegant. Ya think? Do you think the colors are too bright? I could try a shade lighter....hummmmm...actually I think it looks a brighter on-line. must be the AZ sun!
I added the white swirls over the ribbon...after my youngest daughter said it not shabby chic enough.. lol...lots of pop dots again with diamond glaze over the flowers....love that look!
Here is a close-up of those pearls that make this card complete!
Any comments would be appreciated! I was trying to go for a beach, shabby chic look? well....idk???
Thanks for stopping by!

"Rose" Card

Im back with another card...this is a rose card that I just whipped together. I wanted to use the color red...and I thought why not make a rose card to show someone in my life how much I love them? I been using my cricut serenade for the past few cards....love their shapes. The rose print is a coloring book page and I just resized it to fit on my card. The card is 5 x 5 inches. I love the scalloped edge on the bottom. I used my cuttlebug and added more pearls. Pretty basic.
Here is a side view...as you can see the back is different than the front so when it closes it show white from the inside.
Here is a close-up of the beautiful rose. I used my coloring pencils and the diamond glaze for the shiny look. Plus more pop up dots! Just love the look!

Harry Winston Style

Hello again!
First, I want to thank everyone who came to my blog for the blog hop yesterday and today! Im so super excited to have so many followers and fabulous comments. Good luck to everyone who met the criteria for the blog hop for your grand package from SCRAP THAT! You will be so excited to receive it as I surely was excited too!

Here is another layout made with some of those fabulous papers from the March kit from SCRAP THAT! Lots of fussy cutting on this layout....but nothing is too much for my mother's photos! My mother loves pastel pink and vintage items, so this was perfect for me to showcase the photos of my mother at the famous Harry Winston store in Las Vegas! Now who doesn't want a diamond from there? LOL I used tiny dollies around the layout and it worked out perfect for the vintage feeling I wanted to give to my wonderful mother!
Here are some closes-ups:

Thanks Harry....your a girl's best friend!
