Raffia Flowers

I just love Prima flowers and once again this is a flower tutorial inspired by the new Dew Raffia Collection by Prima. They are new releases in April and some are out of stock already! Mine are not as elegant, but they are very economical and super fast to make. In addition, you can make them any size and color you desire!

This tutorial was originally made for Pammy's Ideas for Scrapbookers on May 16th, 2011....Im a little late in putting it in my own blog....lol...if you get the chance stop by her blog for so many great ideas and tutorial from all of her contributors

Here is the instructions to these easy Raffia Flowers: First you need the supplies:  3 quilling strips or 1/8 strips cut from cardstock, ¾ inch darker paper from strips, Scissors,  Glue, Rhinestone, Pearl stickles in White, Ruler

First cut your strips every 2 inches…which should be a total of 18 pieces.

Second, using a dab of glue, layer the strips on top of each other in a criss cross pattern.

Once you have layered all the pieces, flip it over to use the bottom….Its ok if you see left over glue in the center. It will be covered with the darker circle. ☺

Lastly, glue down ¾ inch circle, rhinestone and add stickles in a circle around the rhinestone. 

Here is the finished flower…takes about 10 minutes to make!

Afternoon Tea"

This was my first layout that I used only the main kit. As you can see, it is an amazing kit that has so much. I loved the browns and the home feel to these papers. Loving that DA clock!!!! This is a photo of Roxy and her bf. They spend lots of hours cuddling and the chair from the collection was perfect for my theme.

My second layout is PINK PINK PINK! can you believe it? Some of you may know Im NOT a pink girl but again this month I was proved wrong with theses pinks....also not to mention did you see Roxy is wearing PINK too???? lol Its because her bf bought her that shirt....and she was showing off her arms since she has been working out quite a bit. However, to me this photo looked like she was a statue so the title became aphrodite. I even made a homemade dove to go with the theme.

Love these teals and greens from the June Scrap That kit and all the beautiful pearls! They really pop off the mirror. Also those doilies are so cute!
This is roxy just reflecting on things in life. The theme went get with the beautiful mirror that is on the webster papers.

Scraplifting Cards and Cricut

Hi, I wanted to share some of these gorgeous cards that I lifted from some really talented ladies out there....that is a goal for me someday...to get this good! Meanwhile, thank you ladies!

This first card is for my mother...I made it today from watching Jennifer McGuire's tutorial on the slider card. It is easy to follow and I loved her colors and design so much I followed the whole theme. Thanks girl!

I love my cricut so much and i used it for almost everything! Especially circles, but I also used it for the butterfly too! The colors ended up being the perfect colors for the cricut 360 DT call, so i thought I would enter this one. Thanks

This card was scraplifted by kimmi "superalleygirl"at sb.com. I loved all the candles on the polka dot background and when my daughter came to me 2 nights before her boyfriends birthday...we looked online and seen this amazing card! It was perfect for a young man. Thank you kimmi! He loved it!
My girlfriend at work is a pink pink pink girl! So when her birthday came earlier this month I seen this card by Melissa Frances and it totally screamed my girlfriend! So I scraplifted this beautiful card and my girlfriend loved it! Thank you so much Melissa!

TV Time 2011

OK, so I wanted to use this beautiful canvas that I got with my May Scrap That! kit super bad! I was trying to make a vintage type of layout so I dug in my old stash of Graphic 45 papers and October Afternoon papers, it was a perfect match. So as I was cutting up the papers, it needed something else and when I flipped the paper over it had a couple of TV schedules on it....so the theme became kind-of a vintage TV theme...it is timed for 2011 but in time this too will be vintage. LOL

I love the clock paper so much and can you believe I have used the same paper for several lo's? Its amazing! I do keep every scrap till there is absolutely nothing left to do with it.... hoarding?

The paper also had this adorable little crossword..so I was thinking it would go...remember the old TV guides? They always had crossword puzzles in them...my grandmother loved them every week. Lately, I have been using doilies for the past few lo's...so it was a must for a vintage project...I just chalked them blue. There were buttons on the Graphic 45 patterned paper so I added real ones too....it happened to be perfect for my little retro TV. It is just 2 rectangles layered with a couple of black strips for the antenna's. Super easy... :)

Now, the flowers in cream are paper...totally inspired by Prima flowers...tutorial coming soon.

I am not normally a PINK kind of girl...even though I have two daughters...just never seems to make it on my color list....HOWEVER!!! This kit has stunning pinks that totally changed my opinion about pinks now...Just look on how gorgeous the papers stand out! Ok also included is one of my favorite items that I used so much...it is the stickles pearls...as you can see here I used it everywhere and yes that is just plain cardstock in pink and I drew the lines and added the pearls...so easy to do.

This was a photo of Roxy right before she was going to blow out the candles for her 18th birthday...i wonder what she was wishing for???? hum???

Here is a close up of those gorgeous flowers that are always included in the kit! Beautiful right!
Ok, did you see this stunning Dusty Attic chipboard! OMGosh...it is one of my favs...so detailed...
I have been trying to keep up with my journaling...so why not put them on balloons??? lol
Here is a photo of my niece and Roxy this past summer....such a rare moment in time....they rarely see each other since we live 1800 miles away....sigh..

So here are the greens that come in the gorgeous "Romantic Spring" kit....I love the softness of greens and this color works the best for me....maybe it reminds me of nature? Love the ribbon and all those beautiful flowers~!! Yes, all those flowers come in the kit!
I made my own sign...its a faux DA...lol...loving those flowers!

Last but not least for today is the stunning blues....I love these papers and the tan/beige made me want to keep this lo kind of neutral...OK i did add the extra flat tan flowers, lace and doilies. I find that happens sometimes to me...I love to match some of the products that I have scraps of and make it part of a new design. Im sure you have many extra items that you can add too! :)
Just look at the neutral rose and gorgeous white flowers...in the kit!
Again trying to keep up with that journaling even if it just a sentence... and against that baby blue paper it really pops!
Just finally getting the font and word art to work for me after all these years...im so excited!

Easy Peasy Spring Flowers

Since Easter is just around the corner, I wanted to make some spring colored flowers that didn’t take much time. I love to distress with chalk but these flowers are quicker because there is no chalking or inking involved. Easy for anyone who wants to make paper flowers that are super fast!  Here are the supplies:  You need 3-2 inch flowers, 1-1 1 ¼  inch flower, 1inch flower, and ¾ inch flower…I used my cricut serenade cartridge…but punches work too.  They are all the same flower.  Glue Quilling Tool or Popsicle Stick Colored Cardstock and Kraft Paper Pearl

First twist each edge of the colored cardstock sideways on all three flowers.

Next curl upwards all the kraft cardstock on all 3 flowers.

Last, glue each of the 3 colored flowers on top of each other and from large to small kraft flowers till you get to the center and add a pearl. Easy Peasy!
