Donna Salazar's Spring in Bloom Collection

Hi, Welcome to my reveal day showing the AMAZING scrapbooking papers, diecuts, smoochies and inks by DONNA SALAZAR!!! Im soooo excited to share with you my projects today. Donna's products are soooo great and fun to scrapbook and make cards with that I know you will want to order yours today too!

First, I want to say thank you Donna and Natasha for making me part of the 8 finalists...that alone is a huge honor and I feel so grateful to have made it this far. The other finalists are really amazing artists too! Good luck to all of us in this final round! :)

Here is my first project I want to "share" with you:

This is a photo of Roxy from 2011....the photo is a little blurry, but it was still a cute photo and so I wanted to use it still. I usually don't use purple very much, but I totally LOVE the papers from GCD/Donna Salazar, they truly are beautiful and as you can see I just layered and layered papers.

These are some roses that I made with "Rose Creations" from Donna. I have been making so many roses lately and these roses are a bit different looking than some of the others that I have been making....that is the bestpart of the die cuts...you can make them work for you!

I cut the butterfly out form the papers and added pop dots behind them....here you can get a closer view of the "Shadow Flowers" diecuts....you will be seeing me use more of these too!

I wanted to show you a close up of the torn paper and also I placed a diecut behind it with a pearl...i think it gives it a little extra something.

More roses but also the shadowed roses are part of the paper collection....I just fussy cut them out and crinkled them a bit with a pop dot....nice contrast and of course matches the papers perfectly!

These are the products that I used and total must haves!

GCD STUDIOS
The Crafty Chronicle- Younique

SPELLBINDERS
CLEARSNAP

Here is a second project that I want to "share" with you too! I couldn't help myself making another layout with all of these beautiful papers and goodies!

This design is really something different for me....I was trying to use lots of colors, like a rainbow, blending them in with flowers and cogs...it came out to be a fun design!

This is another photo of Roxy being silly...she takes so many serious photos I thought this one looked like she was "gearing up for trouble" hence the title and perfect with the sprockets!

Ok, so I dont own a sewing machine....but someday I really want to learn....meanwhile, i used some old rub ons....More roses from Rose Creations.....and the fun title i printed on the computer matched my theme...its called "steampunk font"

Sprockets for just boys? Nope! These cogs have bling! So girly! I also fussy cut out more paper roses, crinkled them again and added pop dots....

More blingy sprockets! The best part is you can make them any color you want because they come in a basic cardboard color....i used Donna's smoochies to give it a shimmer look!

I used the "Shadow Flowers" again...I told you that you would see them some more....after I embossed them , I wanted to add some flowers throughout....the small flowers are a fiskars punch and I used my scraps from the blue papers on my layout.

Here are the products that I used for this layout:
WANT TO SCRAP
Nestabling - Sprightly Sprockets

Well, I hope you enjoyed my 2 layout designs full of fantastic Donna Salazar products!!! Thanks for looking and I hope you come back soon!

DT for Donna Salazar!!!

Hi everyone!
I have to share some really exciting news! I was so lucky to be chosen to be part of the Design Team 2012-2013 for Donna Salazar! I still cant believe it! Pinch me and let me know if I'm sleeping? So, now that it is officially out there in public, I have to tell you my story about it!

So, I was browsing around at scrapbook.com and happened to see that Natasha DT coordinator announcing a new DT call for Donna Salazar 2012-2013. So I clicked on it, mind you it was literally 2 days before the deadline....so i thought why NOT...give it a try....I sent in all the information they wanted and to my surprise I made the top 8! WOW! Now, I don't know how many applicants they get, but nonetheless, I was thrilled! So we (8) received a bunch a products (share later) :) and we were to make 2 designs from the products..endorsed by Donna Salazar. So I had mine for quite a while, but some of the girls didn't get theirs so quickly....so the date was moved to give everyone time to design.....it was a generous amount of time too!

So....I really create better under pressure....so I let the products sit and I would bring them out every so often and look at them...trying to think of amazing designs....nothing! So it was the last week before it was due and still I hadn't even cut a single paper. I thought OMGosh! I'm in BIG trouble because there is NO WAY I am going to make the deadline with working everyday....

On Wednesday night, LITERALLY 2 days before everything was due, my girlfriend at work asked me if she could work for me on Thursday. I said "Sure"! However, she started to rethink it and didn't let me know until late late Wednesday night!....

Thursday Morning came and still I hadn't done ONE thing....then BAM! I started crafting and made 3 designs, NOT 2 in a whole day! Usually, it can take me a day or two to come up with a design? CRAZY! I took the photos and blogged (not shown yet) and submitted everything by Friday evening....I thought I'm totally pushing my luck for sure.....I probably wont get picked...even though I was happy with how everything turned out... :)

A few days later TA-DA....the announcement for the new DT was shared among us 8! I almost fell over and had the hugest smile on my face! I feel so blessed and very lucky to have made this amazing team! I cant wait to get started and I hope you will join us with some amazing projects and tutorials coming this year with Donna Salazar! Thanks you Donna and Natasha!
Huge Hugs!
So here is our fabulous 2012 Donna Salazar Design Team!

Its ME!!! Your already Here!

Farewell....My Friend

Good evening!
Well, Im sharing this quick card I made for a girl who is leaving to move back east to be next to her family...my colleagues and I wish her well. I found this quote on line in the farewell quotes...there was NO name so I dont know who wrote it but I really like it a lot! :)
I used a new embossing folder from Darice. I also bought I new "Fanciful Flourish" from Cheery Lynn Designs...It is really beautiful! I also used spellbinders Lacey Ovals and basic ovals. The tiny flowers are fiskars small punch .75 inch and Punch Bunch...flowers they are actually 3 layered on top of each other...with tiny pearls in the center.

A close up of this beautiful quote!

Here is a close-up of the tiny flowers....

This not Goodbye.....it is until I see you later!

Mojo Monday #231

Hi,
I was working on the Mojo Monday sketch last night and when I seen this month's sketch I could see using my spellbinders diecut, exclusively from Heartfelt Creations called "Layered Scalloped Posy Die" for the round arch on top.....then for the tag I thought of a large stamp. So here is the sketch for the first week of March at Mojo Monday's....

I wanted to use my favorite color RED...I don't use it much but it really is my fav! I used Donna Salazar's "Rose Creations" and HC "Layer Scalloped Posy Die" The Stamp is from Sentimentals from cricut, just layered. I distressed the whole card which is a 5x6 inches.

I made a small 6 looped bow tie in black....tutorial coming soon!

A closer view of the rose, the stamp using Microsoft word for Mac and the posy diecut I added pearls....the cream paper is all distressed with Tim Holtz inks and and the small hand is also from cricut sentimentals with the tiny thin stamp postage waves.

I really like the way this card came out.....for so many of use email and rarely use snail mail anymore....but it is nice to get a card or a letter with real handwriting on it.... :)
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to write me back too!

Heartfelt Wednesday's

Good Morning!
Today, Im sharing with you a card that I made for Heartfelt Creations. I used some old stamps and some new stamps...I recently made a card using these colors for a friend of mine who lost her father. :( The colors seem warm and earthy to me which is why I feel like they go well with a sympathy card.

You can see here that I did the inside as well. I dont do that very much, but sure does give the card a complete look.

The butterfly diecut is an exclusive Heartfelt Creations Diecut...and with some bling it really pops!
As you know I just love the roses....here are some more...Plus the beautiful sentiment....

Inside view of the card, I added little vines/leaves from Punch Bunch.

Thanks for stopping by...and be sure to check out the Heartfelt Creations Blog for some more amazing projects!

You Make Me Smile

Hi ladies,
been a few days since I could make a card....I was over at the CR84FN Color Challenge for the first time and I LOVED the color palette! It made me think of spring and happiness...it made me smile!
The pretty photos used to create the graphic are courtesy of Leslie at a creative mint
The MAIN 3 colors are to be:
Yellow, Kraft and Gray

Here is my example....I wasn't sure on the design and I just kept adding and adding to this 5x6 card. I used 3 different ribbons, prima pearls, and spellbinders. The flourish spellbinders is a Donna Salazar " Shadow Flowers" it is sooooo beautiful! The "fancy tags 3", I recently purchased at the stamp convention in Mesa, AZ this past weekend...I have been wanting it for a while now....finally i bought it!

I couldn't believe I actually had a prima rose that was grey? Otherwise, I would have made one with the "Rose Creations" from Donna Salazar...I think it is my favorite diecut for sure! I also used a fiskars .75 flower punch for the tiny flowers....they really are tiny, but the right size for card making.

Hope this card makes you smile too! Have a nice day! :)

Blessing To Me

Hello,
So here is another card that I made using the Verve sketch this week....LOVED it! I wanted to use light light pale colors and it came out exactly how I imagined....whew!
Here is the sketch....as you can see it has so many possibilities....

Here is my interpretation of the sketch. I have had the spellbinders "Fleur De Lis Squares" for a while and well, I finally broke open the case. It is so elegant, a total must have for a cardmaker. I also made a tiny Rose with Spellbinders Donna Salazar "Rose Creations" like I said once before once you start making you own flowers it is really hard to stop...because they match so perfectly and cost pennies.....also NO patterned paper here...just embossing with my cuttlebug :)

I have been trying to make the perfect bows lately....I finally figured out how to make them amazing...this bow has 4 loops on each side and only took a minute to make....I will be making the tutorial soon...so be sure to come back to check it out!

Close up of the rose and the bling....I typed the title on the computer using 2 different fonts and changed the color to match the peach paper.

Hope you were inspired by the sketch just as much as I was inspired...see you soon!
