Proud To Be An American!

This past weekend, I was thinking about the sad losses and the horrible tragedy of the Boston Marathon Runners, friends and family. It is still a shocking story to so many of us. It then reminded me of how strong our nation can come to together after even a horrific event. I was thinking of making a card for the Fourth of July soon. Not only is it my favorite Holiday but I wanted to remember all the men and women who fight for our country to keep it free. I then remembered the song by Lee Greenwood "Proud To Be An American". The song goes straight to my heart and always brings tears to my eyes. I once even seen the dancing fountains at the Bellagio, Las vegas...dance to this song. It was so beautiful and it will always touch me so very deeply. So this is a card to tribute to the friends, family and love ones in the Boston Marathon and to salute all the men and women who fight for us.
Thank You from the bottom of my heart!

This is a funky folded card that was designed by Cheryl. I haven't made one in a while and I really love how fast and easy it really is to make. I used lots of bling and spellbinders diecuts. The little stars I cut out twice and glued a piece of wire in between to hold them up. I then glittered them with fairy dust glitter by Donna Salazar. The papers are all from K & Company and I made more little Bitty Blossoms with the same paper line.

I even did the inside to match the outside with even more bling. This card really shines!

God Bless All of Us!
I'm so Proud To Be An American!
See you soon...

Cricut 360 Challenge # 11 For a Hero Commemorating 9/11

Good Morning,
Today I'm sharing with you a card made for this week's challenge at Cricut 360. This week's theme is for a hero, commemorating 9/11. So when I was thinking of the design for this card, I had so many parts of 9/11/01 tragedy in my head...I cant believe it will be ten years now. I'm sure to those who lost loved ones it still seems like yesterday. :(
So since I wanted to add so many elements onto a card...so here is what I decided to add: the city, the twin towers lighting in blue, the firemen and policemen who are just some of the heroes, clouds, hearts with an American theme, roses in front of the buildings, and yellow ribbons. I sure didn't think i would be able to get this all on one formal card, which is how the side step card came into place. It is a 5 1/2 x 10 1/2 card and really easy to make...there are many tutorials out there on U Tube. I used many cricut cartridges for this card...here is the list: Everyday Paper Dolls, George Basic Shapes, Serenade, Jasmine, Plantin Schoolbook and Cuttlebug embossing plate Script Texture. This card came out to be exactly what I wanted to say this 10th anniversary for our 9/11 heroes....thank you to all our heroes to this date!
God Bless all of you!
Here is a slight angle of the side step card and on the back cloud it says
"10th Year Anniversary NYC"
I hope you were not upset by this card, but to "Remember" and "Never Forget" what made all of us come together as a nation.
So hope you join us over at Cricut 360 this week for more inspiration from our DT and this week's FABULOUS PRIZE! It is from My Pink Stamper....very cool and perfect for this week's theme!
See you there!
