Pop Up - Gingerbread House With Cheery Lynn Designs

Hi, Its Lisa back again this Wednesday to share with you another card using some of the New Releases from Cheery Lynn Designs! I know it is August but its never too early to start on those Holiday and Christmas cards. Especially, for loved ones. This card is all about the Gingerbread Family and the Gingerbread House. I also added some older Snowflowers on the outside and new Snowflake Set 1 inside.

Now most of the cards that we share here on Cheery Lynn Designs are the outside of the card, however I wanted to show you how the Gingerbread House can look as a pop up card inside. In the background, are the new Snowflake Set 1 with one more gingerbread man. The Oval Stitch has plenty of room for your personal sentiments. I also placed an Oval on the front for my stamped sentiment.

Here you can see the pop up off the back of the cardstock. Lots of tutorials out there but leave me a comment below and I can send you instructions, if you are interested. I have seen a gingerbread house pop up card in the past....don't be overwhelmed you can make it yourself very easily too!

Pop Up... Piano Card

Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a nice weekend and a wonderful Valentines Day!
So today I'm sharing with you a card that I made for this week's Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge  #172-Shaped Card. It can be anything other than a square. Since I make lots of rectangles I thought I would try something new. OK, I know this piano card has been around here and there...however, I made mine from scratch. I have been wanting to make a crd like this for a very long time. I just used the standard 5 x6 size that I like and turned it sideways. It basically opens like a regular card would that you would buy from the store. The curve I just free handed and fussy cut out. Lots of cheery lynn flowers, leaves and flourishes on this card.

I made the pop up part by just folding paper back and forth. So it can be placed in an envelope and mailed. The doily I cut in half and stamped the sentiment on it. There is also a cheery lynn butterfly inside but it was hard for me to get the right angle for a photo....sorry.

Here is a closer view....also my triple bow again! This time I placed a miniature rose on top.
The piano part is a 1 inch white strip. I drew lines with a marker in black every .5 inches and then added a .25 x .75 inch cut up black paper for the keys. Pretty easy just takes a little time.

Here you can kind of see the butterfly....lol
I made my card with a third part so that is where I will place my personal sayings.

I used the Victorian romance flourish inside too, white cardstock and pink cardstock on the front.

So I was planning to use this inside on the back but it as a bit too much so I made it into a bookmark that I could send with the card, since it does match.

Another view....same size piano instructions as above and I added the scalloped punch in pink  and black cardstock to enhance it a bit more.

Cheery Lynn Diecuts Used:

DL151 Victorian Romance Flourish
DL Exotic Butterflies Small #2
DL102 French Pastry
B178 Flourish Leaf Strip
B241 Rose Leaf Strip
B152 Miniature Rose

So I hope you enjoyed my piano card today. It did take a bit longer to make, but I'm happy with the ending result.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Cricut 360 Challenge #10

Hello everyone,
Today I'm sharing with you a new card that I made for the Cricut 360 Challenge #10...Grandparents Day. I have always know about the day, but never quite sure which day? Well, now I know this year...it is September 11, 2011. My children have only one grandparent alive...its very sad, but I'm so glad to have my beloved mother! My mother LOVES CATS...i mean REALLY LOVES CATS! So I wanted to make a card for her with a cat on it....I recently won this Nifty Fifties cricut cartridge on ebay for 18.50!...and I'm so excited to use it for the first time! It has the coolest cat on it....not to mention other amazing old school items...but it was the perfect cat for my mother. She also LOVES pink and so the theme is a vintage cat, damask background, ribbon and pearls. I also used my favorite cricut cartridge...George Basic Shapes for the hearts and for the pink background behind the cat, I used my cuttlebug D'vine swirls. Of course there are 3D pop dots...they are so addicting! lol
Here is the front view of my card for my dear beloved mother:

Here you can see the pop dots:
A close up of this cute cat...I used my Signo white pen for the dots on the cat...i just love that pen on black...its so purr-fect!
Hope you were inspired by my card this week and come on over to Cricut 360 to play with us. Lots of inspiration by the rest of our DT! Here is also this week's PRIZE!

See you there!

Happy 21st Birthday Card

I made another card today for my son's Best Friend's 21st birthday today! Happy Birthday kid!
Well, he is a kid to me....lol...cant believe he is 21! Wow! My twin sons turn 21 in less than 2 weeks, but they cant go out to celebrate at the bar with Sean tonight...oh well, soon!
I seen this beer mug on-line clip art....so super cute! I just printed it up...added stickles in yellow and white pearls for the froth. I put pop dots behind the beer to give it a 3D look. The paper is just white cardstock and I printed Happy 21st Birthday! Over and over again...pretty easy to make your own paper.
Here is the front view: Its a 6 x 6 Card
Here is the fun inside: I just used my George Cartridge for the bubble beer sayings and also for the balloons.
A little closer:
I also just made the same beers as the front of the card and reversed it so the back is like the front...360 degrees when it pops up! The wire is 24 gauge and I just glued them between two yellow pieces of cardstock. The slider card is just like the recent one I made...you can find it here with the link to make it too!
Closer look of the balloons, beers and wire...

I signed it after the photos and slipped some $$$ for a few BEERS on Me!

Bridal Shower Card #1

So I'm on this Pop-Up card craze lately! I just cant seem to stop now! lol
I heard back about the bridal shower invitations and colors, so I thought I would make some cards to put on my post for her to get an idea of what she might like? Everything can be tweaked to meet her expectations.... :0)
So here is one card out of approximately 5 cards that I have sketched up for her to look at through my blog since we live thousands of miles away. It seems to be the fastest way to get a sneak peek of what I was kind-of thinking?
This first design has a simple front, I wanted to use prima pearls, but right now I don't have any in white..so to get an idea of what I was thinking I just used pearl stickles. I decided to use the Martha Stewart Arch Punch, since it is a nice punch that's makes me think of wedding arches. I used Prima flowers and just placed a basic "Your Invited" on the front of the card. Simple.

Now for the inside of the card: I have seen these amazing pop-up cards that say like "thank you", "i love you" "happy birthday" and etc... So I thought I can do this! I takes a little patience again but not nearly as tedious as the Wedding cake card. So I made this template from my computer at home....Tutorial Coming Soon! The inside is NOT as nice as I wanted it to be because I should have used the corner punches to make it perfect, but you get the idea? After all the inside is a faux invitation , just for displaying purposes.

Here it is again in Tiffany colors....
Inside Tiffany Colors
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions to make any of my upcoming bridal shower cards irresistible that any bride-to-be will want to share with their family and friends.
Thank you!

Thanks A Bunch Pop-Up Card

Once again, Im here with a new card that I put together last night for my daughters boyfriends great aunt! Whew....didnt lose you did I? lol My daughter and boyfriend and another friend are going to Las Vegas for 4 days! How come Im not going???? They are going for this dancing thing and are planning to stay with his Great Aunt...so I figured a Great Aunt needs a Great Thank You Card too!
I have seen some truly amazing cards lately and here is my version/tutorial of my first pop-up slider card. Love it!

Instructions: 6x 6 card
First, take a 6 x 12 inch cardstock of plain cardstock and a matching patterned paper.
Fold the 6 x 12 inch half...then cut out a 3 x 3 inch square in the center.
Next cut out a 4 inch wood grain paper or you can stamp it wood grain and cut out a 2.5 inch square out of the center of the wood. make two 1/4 inch wood panes.
Cut a piece of 3 x 3 inch transparency and place on the back of the window then add the window panes on top of that...like a sandwhich.
Add a 2 inch oval and scallop around with another piece of cardstock.
Embellish with ribbons for the curtains.

The inside I used Walk In My Garden Cricut Cartridge, I made 5 sets of the tulips and leftover scraps for the blue, yellow and white flower tops. The flower pot base is a 3 inch rectangle with a 1/2 inch cut off the top...also used Martha Stewart punch for the arches on the top of the flower pot. Extra tip: Don't forget to make the backside of the flower pot and colored flowers too. For a finished 3D effect when it pops up!

The patterned paper is 6 x 6 and BEFORE you tack it down cut out the slider part first.
There are some great tutorials out there on how to make the slider. Here is one by Dawn's Stamping Thoughts that is great...thank you! I modified my measurements for my card...I cut mine at 2 inches and 4 inches and 3 inches high....basically, in the center of the card so that you could see the flowers through the window when the card is laying flat. The inside slider is the same green to match and I punched a hole in the bottom and added ribbon.
The kids are planning to sign the card on the slider part later....
Hope you enjoyed looking and try your first pop up slider card too! Super fun!

Bridal/Wedding Pop-Up Cake Card

Hello everyone,
Im back with a new card to share with you. I have not been able to scrap for many days because I injured my leg....but its getting better and today I was able to finally make something! Scrapping withdraw...I need my fix! lol
I was asked a while ago to make some bridal invitations for someone very special (well I offered first)...but, Im not sure if she still needs them? However, I thought I would try to come up with something as an example.. As I was looking at Martha Stewart's old Bridal Shower Cards, I came across this AMAZING pop-up cake card made by Carol...you can find her template here. Beware, it does take some patience, but so worth the ending result! I kept the colors neutral and added bling...but as always you can pick any color to match any theme!
Here is the front of the card...

Now for the gorgeous inside! Love it!!! I added lace to the front and back so when it opens, it brought out more of the cream.
Another angle from the top....I just used a basic saying...but you can customize it to whatever you want....I also changed the lace icing pattern...by punching holes around the scallops.
Thanks for stopping by....Hugs!
