Shabby Birthday Cupcakes

Good Morning....I'm still very sad about the recent tragedy that happened and as I find out more information it just gets sadder by the minute :( So in the attempt to feel not so sad, I thought today I would try to make something cheerful like a new birthday card. I was inspired by this weeks

So here is my interpretation of this fun pink birthday theme. I really layered this card quite a bit..it just seemed like it needed something more??? I'm really happy the way it turned out. I started off using light pinks and I made the big flower out of Kleenex. The tutorial by Joanne Allison can be found here. I added a vintage pearl button that I found in a big bag at Hobby Lobby. The sentiment is from Verve, called "treasured words" I really love this set and hoping to get more soon. :)

I used my cricut "sweet treats" at 1 inch to make these little cupcakes in white and then layered them with inked cream cardtock. I then added white liquid applique and leftover pink pearls to give the cupcake a super yummy and realistic look. The premade flowers are from prima...left from another project and the tiny flowers were part of my Scrap That! kit this month.  The little birdcage was also cut using my cricut "serenade" at 2 inches.

The "floral ovals" from Spellbinders are one of my favorite sets, I tend to use it often. The little banner was cut with my cricut .75 inches on George Basic Shapes, triangles. I just glued thin pink ribbon to the tops and added pearls. Underneath the the banner is a diecut from Cheery Lynn Designs called "Italian Flourish" It is really detailed and so beautiful! The chipboard is part of Donna Salazar's "hand drawn swirls" and I inked and embossed it with my favorite "mixd media inx- jasmine" Im almost out! Need to get of that very very soon...

One last side view....
I am also entering this card into other card challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and if its your birthday today...well then....
Happy Birthday To You!!!

The Beauty Of Christmas *Prima -12 Days Of Christmas*

Hello everyone...hope you are having a great Sunday!
I sure have been busy with DT projects lately and I was finally able to make a new card.
I was totally inspired by the talented Gerry Van Gent's beautiful card that is part of the
When I think of the beauty of Christmas, I think beautiful poinsettias, the peace of birds hiding in their snowy birdhouses and of course snow! Dont get that here in the valley of the sun....but I do remember.
I wanted to place a title on the card...but ran out of room with all the flowers! lol
I had one creamy white rose that has been sitting around for a while.
Im so glad I was finally able to use it on this card because I only needed one to make it perfect.

This card is a 5 x 6 inch card...my favorite size.
I embossed the white frame and white center with my cuttlebug,
using a swirl frame and snowflakes folders. I also used spellbinders
victorian lace motifs and labels 20.
The white poinsettias are out of cardstock using the petite poinsettia diecut
from spellbinders too. Lots of little pearls in the centers.
The cute birdhouse is normally tan in color, I just inked it white and embossed it in white.
The little bird and diecut are from Heartfelt Creations-
Brookside Manor and Garden Romance.

Here is a closer view of all the beautiful flowers.
I added flower soft to the red flowers and the handmade pine cones out of kraft cardstock.
It really gives if a snowy christmas feel to it! :)
In the background I used holly flourish from cheery lynn designs and layers Prima leaves on top of that.

Hope you were just as inspired by my card as I was to Gerry's...thank you!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
Hugs

Get Well Soon *Donna Salazar*

Hello again! Its Lisa back with a new card with tutorial!
I have had some family members not feeling so well lately and that was my inspiration for today.
When Im sick I think of chicken soups and those are the colors for today with a bit of country twist.
Using Donna's NEW "chicken wire" stamp it feels like chicken soup is close. LOL
I really like shabby chic and vintage items so this card is a bit of both:)

Here you can see it is a bit 3D as I like most of my cards.

Just love those bitty blossoms and those amazing new chippies by Donna!

So here is how I made this card: Bare with me if some sounds very basic :)
First, take a 12 x12 white cardstock and cut at 5 inches.
Save the rest...Im a big saver anyways....How about you?

Score at 6 inches and fold in half. This is your base and the base of several cards that I make.

Next using the "Chicken Wire" stamp, stamp right in the middle using "Black Mix'd Media Inx"
and "Black Embossing Powder".

Next with the leftover pieces of white cardstock, cut another 5 x 6 piece of paper.
Measure 1 inch inwards and cut out the center.

Cut the corners at an angle and emboss with a diecut, I used
Spellbinders "Parisian Accents" But you can use whatever you have on hand.

Place a piece of ribbon on the bottom just barely under the frame and glue all the frame pieces down.
If you like you can add pop dots instead. Be sure to curl up the inside edges a bit.

Next make 3 yellow flowers using "bitty blossoms" and " GCD botanique papers"
I also cut in the matching yellow paper "lacey circles" and a 1. 5 inch white circle.
Stamp the white circle with "chicken wire" and emboss.
(Not shown, a larger yellow "lacey circle" and a circle kraft cardstock, crimped)
I added it after I took the photo....sorry!

Here are some of the extra supplies and once again that fabulous chippie from Donna!
For my title strips, I used Microsoft Word for Mac and I added tiny dots using a black marker.

Well that is it girlies!
It takes about an hour to make but Im sure it will make your loved one feel much better :)
Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!

Purrrrfect! *Donna Salazar*

Hi Welcome back to Donna's Blog!
It's Lisa once again with a layout to share with you.
As you might know, we have been sharing photos with each other for
our "scrapbook circle" between DT members.
Today, I made my first 8.5 x 11 inch layout for Jessy Christopher.
I was a bit scared to work on a smaller palette...but know I love the size! lol
It is an adorable photo of her and her kitty.
I loved the colors in her photo and it was like it was meant to be to
match all of Donna's fabulous papers! Purrrrfect!

Here are some of those amazing purrrrfect flowers!

I just love this branch, I diecut it and then embossed it with clear embossing powder to give it a shine.

Here you can see how the corrugated cardboard and flowers pop off the page.

Hope you enjoyed!
Have a wonderful day!

Heartfelt Wednesday's *Lovely*

Its another Heartfelt Wednesday and Im sharing with you another layout using the amazing
"delicate asters collection"...I think these flowers have to be one of my favorites because they are just so beautiful and delicate...hence the name...lol
These purple papers from the "delicate asters" are really gorgeous too!

Here is a closer view of those flowers and leaves.
I used watercolor paper and tim holtz distressed inks.

In the background I used Donna Salazar's "shadow flowers
With a touch of "gala glitz" and bling it really makes this lo shine.

The diecut in the corner is from last month's release called "decorative metal fixtures"
it is just the right size for any corner whether it is a card or a layout.

Be sure to stop by for more creations this week at Heartfelt Creations Blog!

Heartfelt Wednesday's *Sunshine For My Soul*

Welcome back to another Heartfelt Wednesday
This week I used more of the new "Delicate Asters Collection" I really love these flowers.
They are literally so delicate and very detailed in real life.
Many of the pieces of patterned paper in the collection are purple and green but as you can see here you can add any color you want to them....I choose yellow and wanted it to represent Sunshine.
My little Roxy is truly one of my sunshines in my life. I actually had an original that I submitted to HC which you can see under this first photo. I had to add something else???? It happened to be little pieces of diecuts around some of the journaling...now Im really happy!

Original...brighter in color but needed the extra...loving :)

Here is a super close up of those amazing flowers and leaves that you can create with the "delicate asters" and the "delicate asters diecut" I added "gala glitz in silver" to really give them an extra bling...NO pearls this week....lol
The title was made with Microsoft Word for Mac on an "classic oval" and it is layered on the
"fancy tag 3" in yellow cardstock

I added some journaling strips and some bling from my stash.
Love "bitty blossoms" because they are not too big but also because they always match your papers
Behind the large "delicate aster" is "lotus pendants" diecut. I liked it because it has pointed edges and really blends in with the new flowers.

Another close up of the flower spray.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out more creation at the Heartfelt Creations Blog this week and to see who the winner is of this amazing collection!

Purdy Birdie *Donna Salazar*

Good Morning!
It's me Lisa again with a new layout making your own background paper
using Donna's fabulous new stamps.
I love the bricks and that adorable camera.
This is a Foto of my little Roxy and she sure is a "Purdy Birdie" :)

So here is how to make your own background paper:
First, take a piece of white cardstock and a piece of Donna's Botanique Paper.

Next, tear off part of the top and part of the bottom.
Distress using Zutter.

In the center use Jasmine Distress Inx and smear, let dry.

Stamp with black Mix'd Media Ink the bricks, then emboss with black embossing powder.

Lastly, spray with smooch in blue "Sea Breeze"
That's it...now embellish.

Stamp the "foto set" in demin "Mix'd Media Inx" and
emboss with denim embossing powder to make that adorable camera.
The yellow flowers are made with "Carnation Creations" and
the white flowers are made with "Rose creations"
I added a little gala glitz in the centers.

The title is made using another stamp from "foto" and yellow cardstock.

Stamp in black on yellow cardstock for the cool distressed birdie's.

Hope you are inspired to make your own background paper too!
Have a great day!

Create Your Own Dreams *Donna Salazar*

Hello my scrappy friends...It's Lisa back again with a card that I wanted to share with you using Donna Salazar's awesome products. So many designs I make are with scrapbook layouts, but I love making cards too! So for all of your cardmakers out there...this one is for you! I love making 5 x 6 inch cards because they fit so nicely in a standard card envelope. I was on a grunge look last time and now Im back to the shabby chic look that I love especially in pink colors.

The base is white cardstock and I layered it with a dusty pink cardstock and distressed the edges.
Next using "botanique" papers I used the double sided paper and cut in half. I embossed the pink side with the stamp "all my love" and attached them together. Next I added the ribbons before I glued it down to the base of the card. Then of course lots of embellishments and doily. :)

I made little clouds and stamped with "words and banners" in black ink. All the pearls on the lacey circles are from donna's "sprockets" bling...it sure is great to go from grunge to shabby chic with all those pearls...the possibilities are endless. The cute chipboard bird was inked in "jasmine" ink and then embossed with "jasmine" embossing powder. I just love that white...but Im almost out! Guess I need to buy some more real soon! lol

As always, I cant stop using these AMAZING "bitty blossoms" they are perfect for all kinds of projects
I even used the leaves this time and I embossed them with the spellbinders machine...also don't forget all your pop dots to give your card that 3D look that we all love!

Hope you have a great day!
hugs
