A Vintage Christmas

Hi everyone!
Today, I'm lucky to have one more day off and what better to do early in the morning... but get this week's sketch from Mojo Monday #415. I have been trying to get some Christmas cards done so that I'm not so far behind when the holiday comes around. Today's sketch came super easy for me and here is my ending card in less than 30 minutes.

I distressed the edges and used an old paper pack called "Noel" from American Crafts. I found it last year during the holidays at Marshall's for $2.99. The paper pack is vintage looking and that was one of the reasons I had to have it. There are also several pre printed tags inside which made this card quick.

I know the sketch has only one tag but I thought why not make it two! I added cream cardstock around the edges just to give it more layers.  The lace ribbon was the ending piece of my roll and the flowers were part of the huge flower bag that I bought last year at the local scrapbooking yard sale.

Here you can see the two tags come out if you want to use them for regular gift tags or journal something from Santa on the back. :) The Merry Christmas tag I placed tiny pop dots behind it so the tags slide easily in and out.

Here is the great sketch! Thanks!

Have a great day!
Lots of cards scheduled this week, so be sure to stop by soon!

A Bountiful Harvest

Happy Saturday!
Today, I'm sharing with you a card that I made yesterday afternoon for the upcoming Fall season. I can't wait for the temperature to finally cool down here in the valley of the sun. The sketch is part of this week's Viva La Verve Sept #2. I knew I wanted to make an Autumn/Thanksgiving card again. All the stamps are from Verve called Bountiful Harvest. The papers are an old autumn paper set from K & Company. It worked out great for my theme today.

The ribbon I thought really brings out the brown cardstock. and I added a bow to the top to give it that little extra something. :) The circle was a great area to place the title and it so happened to not only be the right size font to fit in the circle but almost the same exact curve too.

I embossed the cream cardstock with my cuttlebug and added a few pearls to three edges. Behind the sentiment, and pumpkins are tiny pop dots.

Here is the beautiful sketch! Thanks!

Have a terrific weekend!

Grateful For You With Cheery Lynn Designs

Hi everyone! Its Lisa back today to share a new Autumn or Thanksgiving card for the upcoming season with Cheery Lynn Designs. I recently received this "Shuttered Window" and I absolutely LOVE it! The possibilities are endless because it can be used to create beautiful projects for every season. I used Kraft cardstock for the "Shuttered Window" and a slight darker shade of brown for the "Birch Tree with Cute Critters" My intentions were to make this card more neutral in colors. I used the "Flourish #14" leaves with lighter yellow, green and lighter orange cardstock.

I added lots of pop dots throughout the card. The stamped images and sentiment I fussy cut out. It is bit hard to see...but I also embossed the cream cardstock and crimped cream cardstock behind the window. It was inspired by this week's challenge "All About Texture"

A closer view of the layering of leaves, I used the smaller "Flourish #14" of the two included. Cheery Lynn Designs owns Crafty Ann now and these "Flourishes #14" are gorgeous! Must have in your collection!

Caution!

Hi everyone!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor day weekend. Myself, it was productive with several cards, but also I was home bound with an icky sinus cold. Yuk!
This card I made a couple days ago for the Halloween season. I used old papers from Martha Stewart and even my old MS web punch. The stamped bottles are part of the Graphic 45 collection this year called "Rare Oddities". I also have the "Rare Oddities" patterned papers but I think I'm going to use them for a mini album. Hopefully coming soon?

The "raven" and "caution" stamps are from pink paislee "phantom"collection and I bought them years ago at the local scrapbooking yard sale.  The bats and bird cage are from Cheery Lynn Designs and I added some Zva black bling to represent potion fumes.

A closer view, I love that the bat wings pop off the card. A few pop dots behind the raven and the center potion bottles. I used stazon black ink because I'm usually to impatient to emboss them...however, I'm sure that would look great too.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check more cards this week.

Season's Greetings

Hi Happy Labor Day!
Today I'm in the mood for red as you can see my earlier post today. I was on call last night and worked a little bit into the early morning. Since I was awake, I checked out this month's Mojo Monday #414. It is a nice simple sketch that I thought I would use for a Christmas card. Well I started to pick out some patterned papers from Authentique Festive Collection that I bought I while ago. Well, It started to get a bit busy with all the patterned papers, so I added a poinsettia and some candles :)

The sentiment and candles are from Verve called "Light My World". I stamped the sentiment on a Cheery Lynn diecut Pierced Stacker #4 and layered it with pop dots on top of another Cheery Lynn diecut called Royal Scandinavian Tag 2. The holly leaves in the background are also from Cheery Lynn Designs. The poinsettia is a Spellbinders diecut and the matching stamp is from Heartfelt Creations.

I added some pearls and colored the candle flames and poinsettia with copic markers. I hope you don't think it is too busy? I sometimes tend to do that....lol

Here is the sketch this week by Julee Tilmam. Thx!

Hope you have a safe and wonderful Labor day!

Capture The Moment With The Shabby Tea Room #259 "Picture This"

Hi shabby gals!
Welcome back to a new photo inspiration from "The Shabby Tea Room #259 "Picture This"!
This week our challenge is being sponsored by the lovely digital papers by Janet Etsy. They are so beautiful and very vintage/shabby chic, just what I love! I used the "Beautiful Life" camera image 3 times, one at 3 inches, one at 2.5 inches and one at 1.25 inches. I distressed it just a bit more with "vintage photo", yes, pun intended. LOL

The inspiration photo happens to be my favorite color RED
So, I literally seen the front door and thought I had to make it like an Elizabeth Arden door. Lots of Cheery Lynn "flourish leaves" in green cardstock and I happened to have exactly 8 tiny roses from years ago. Perfect.

I used some Zva champagne bling to match the vintage cameras and I have this striped ribbon from Christmas. The colors of the card make me think of Christmas time too. What do you think? Christmas card or nah? Last, but not least I added some thin ribbon on the top of 2 cameras.

The Shabby Tea Room lovely inspiration photo!

Be sure to stop by this week for lots of inspiration from the shabby girls The Shabby Tea Room Blog and join our challenge for a chance to win some goodies from Janet Etsy
Have a great week!

Shabby Blue Birthday

Happy Sunday!
Hope everyone is having a safe and wonderful holiday weekend!
I made this card yesterday and I meant to upload it, but something was missing? I finally added some pearls throughout and I think that was the missing pieces. The sketch was made by Julee Tilman and it is part of the September sketches for Viva La Verve

The papers are from Bo Bunny called Rose Cafe Collection. I have had these blue flowers from Recollections for quite some time now. It was a perfect match! The beautiful leaves are from Crafty Ann and it was recently purchased by Cheery Lynn Designs. It is the Flourish #14, totally in LOVE with it. All the pearls are scraps and the Fishtail Banners are from Cheery Lynn too. I use them quite a bit on my cards.

The stamp is from Verve stamps and I used Tim Holtz Denim ink to stamp on the pierced circles from Cheery Lynn Designs. Last, but not least, the Martha Stewart punch is one of my old favorites.

Here is the great sketch! Thanks again Julee!

Have a great day!

Spider Venom

Hi everyone!
Its Thursday so it is getting close to the weekend! Yay!
So I made this card Tuesday afternoon, but just now posting it. It is a new Halloween card inspired by this week's Mojo Monday sketch #413. I recently made another card using this elegant little spider and well, I just had to use him/her again!

The circle diecut and the inverted diecut are from Spellbinders and the rest of the spooky diecuts are from cheery lynn designs. I have had the green patterned paper for years and the green spider ribbon went perfectly to my theme. I fussy cut two more spiders and the title I happened to have bought a couple years ago at the local scrapbooking yard sale. I totally forgot I had them! I better get more organized soon!

A closer view! Im just loving the green for my cards this Halloween season!

Here is the awesome sketch! Thx Julee

Have a great day!
