Thanksgiving "Treats" *Donna Salazar*

Hello my scrappy friends!
Its Lisa back with a new tutorial making these cute little treat bags for the holiday season.
I guess they are great for any time of the year too.
I was thinking about Thanksgiving in a few days and how I'm so Thankful for my "family"!
I was recently at a card convention when I seen some adorable little candy bags and I thought I don't need to buy the pre-made ones? I can just make them out of cardstock easily. :)
I was also thinking they would be great for name place cards on the table too.
Here are 2 different colors and using Donna's fabulous new "pockets and swirls" diecuts.

Here is the one we will make today, for the thanksgiving holiday.

First, you need a piece of white cardstock 3 x 9 inches and score it at 4 & 5 inches.

Next use a punch on each edge.
Tip
*I centered it using the lines of the punch then went out both ways.*

Then fold on score lines and using a hole punch
make 2 holes up on the top through both sides at once.

Using Donna's blue jean paper from "storybook"
diecut the 2 smallest pockets from "pockets and swirls"

Next distress the edges with your "zutter" for a cool jean look!
I also doodled on the lines of the smaller pocket with a white pen.

Stamp on white cardstock with "mixd media inx"-black the word "family"
from the "banner and words" stamp collection.
I fussy cut if out and used pop dots.

Glue down the pocket and add small punches of leaves.

In the inside add a tiny bag *jewelry size*
punch again through the bag...dont forget your goodies!

Place ribbon through holes and give yourself some length for a bow.

Place ribbon through the front and add a bit of white lace to the top.
Your "treat bag" is ready for this holiday season!

Hope you will give them a try soon!
They are really great as gifts, treats for school or just because!
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving with friends, family and loved ones!
xoxo

Cool Blue Christmas

Hello again!
So, Im this super card Christmas card roll today.
Thank goodness, because time is running out!
I really never understand where time goes?
Let me know if you find out??? lol
So on this 5 x 5 inch card, I decided to try out the Raster Screen technique
for the card challenge over at sb.com.
It is really quite easy as long as you have the right tape...I thought I could try regular tape at first, but then I realized that it has to come off easily...so that would not work at all.
Luckily and thankfully Natasha with DSD sent me some recently and it works fabulous!
Thanks sweetie!

Its getting dark outside so I took these photos in the house....the ribbon looks a bit purplish here?
Lots of fancy diecuts from Cheery Lynn Designs and Memory Box.
Just when I thought I didnt have any other odd roses from Prima around....
ta da....one pops up! I was thinking about changing the color but then I decided to leave it alone and go with blues and greys, with a touch of green hollies.
I also dotted liquid pearls in baby blue...not perfect but it is distracted by all the flowers and diecuts :)

A closer view of these amazing delicate diecuts....Love them!
Of course always close to my heart are the amazing Bitty Blossoms.
Can never have too many roses right?
I printed the tag on the computer with my old timer cricut cutting me the tag.

Well, thats it for today....be sure to stop by tomorrow for a great tutorial
for this upcoming Thanksgiving!
Hugs

The Beauty Of Christmas *Prima -12 Days Of Christmas*

Hello everyone...hope you are having a great Sunday!
I sure have been busy with DT projects lately and I was finally able to make a new card.
I was totally inspired by the talented Gerry Van Gent's beautiful card that is part of the
When I think of the beauty of Christmas, I think beautiful poinsettias, the peace of birds hiding in their snowy birdhouses and of course snow! Dont get that here in the valley of the sun....but I do remember.
I wanted to place a title on the card...but ran out of room with all the flowers! lol
I had one creamy white rose that has been sitting around for a while.
Im so glad I was finally able to use it on this card because I only needed one to make it perfect.

This card is a 5 x 6 inch card...my favorite size.
I embossed the white frame and white center with my cuttlebug,
using a swirl frame and snowflakes folders. I also used spellbinders
victorian lace motifs and labels 20.
The white poinsettias are out of cardstock using the petite poinsettia diecut
from spellbinders too. Lots of little pearls in the centers.
The cute birdhouse is normally tan in color, I just inked it white and embossed it in white.
The little bird and diecut are from Heartfelt Creations-
Brookside Manor and Garden Romance.

Here is a closer view of all the beautiful flowers.
I added flower soft to the red flowers and the handmade pine cones out of kraft cardstock.
It really gives if a snowy christmas feel to it! :)
In the background I used holly flourish from cheery lynn designs and layers Prima leaves on top of that.

Hope you were just as inspired by my card as I was to Gerry's...thank you!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
Hugs

Heartfelt Wednesday's *Autumn Beauty*

Welcome back to another Heartfelt Wednesday!
Today I was in the mood for some crisp autumn colors but I didnt want to use traditional leaves? So I decided to use the beautiful roses from "vintage floret"with a few pumpkins from the "classic editions" collection too! This is a picture of my little Roxy in her favorite little ASU yellow jacket.

Here you can see the awesome pumpkins from the "classic editions" collection.
It is called "pumpkin harvest"
They are also great for quick cards too.

Lots of Roses on this tree. The tree is kraft cardstock stamped with "window accents"
The swirls are "bella rose" leaves and I just cut off the swirls.

Be sure to stop by this week's Heartfelt Creations Blog for more creations and get ready for our
NEW collection coming out on Black Friday!

I just love the roses from the amazing "vintage floret" collection.
These papers are beautiful and with the roses it is really easy to make a great card.

I wanted to add a bit of bling but Im kind of out? So I used these vintage gold buttons instead.
Think it worked out great for a finishing touch!

Mojo Monday #266 *Merry Christmas Card*

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
I was lucky enough to have a 4 day weekend so I decided to get an early start on this month's Mojo Monday Card. This sketch was made by Julee Tilman...thank you!

So I was in the mood to get a few Christmas cards going ( Im usually late getting started ) lol
I have had these Pion Papers from a while back when I designed for Scrap That! I really like the vintage feeling to them and wanted to get them back out for today's card.
This past Saturday, I went to the card convention in Mesa AZ and I won the "under the sea" card contest! woo hoo! happy dance! I really was hoping to make the top three and I ended up winning 1st prize! That was $100.00 in free convention money....love it! Of course you had to use it during the weekend and I wasnt planning to go on Sunday....easy to do very quickly I found out! lol
Hence some of my New diecuts from Memory Box and Cherry Lynn Designs are on here.

I usually try to follow the sketch to an exact "T" However, I really wanted to use the "merry christmas" stamp that I bought years ago from Heartfelt Creations. The font is so beautiful.

The 2 first photos the cream papers look a bit white, but as you can see here the papers are really cream and match my ribbon perfectly. I added the CLD "holly" and a poinsettia from HC to really show off the ribbon. There also is a little tiny bit of baby's breathe that I bought at the convention in a nice size bag for only $1.00. I should have bought more? :( Next time...

Hope you have a great week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Great Friends *Donna Salazar*

Hello my scrappy friends!
Its Lisa back with a new 8.6 x 11 inch layout featuring Michelle and her great friend Debbie that she recently visited. Such a great photo to cherish!
I was in a pink mood today and Im so glad it came together exactly how I imagined it.
Love when that happens!
I used some of Donna's NEW fabulous chippies and LOVE the new swirl stamp!
They really compliment each other so well as you can see. :)

I did some fussy cutting of flowers and blended them in the rest of the flowers.
I also had to use my favorite roses "bitty blossoms" and "rose creations"
All the chippy swirls and stamped swirls are inked with
"chiffon" mixd media inx and embossing powder.

I didnt have layer too much because the papers are really beautiful the grey and pinks work so well together but I did sneak a little bit of "chronicles" behind the photo.

I hope Michelle likes it and I really had fun with all the pinks today!
Have a great week
hugs

Best Fishes To You!

Hi and welcome back to my blog for a different kind of card from me today!
This card is for a contest at the local Stamp Convention here in AZ on November 3.
All the cards will be donated afterwards...so it is for a good cause. :)
The theme is "under the sea" so this is what I came up with for my thoughts about under the sea.
This is the smallest card I have ever made, it is 4.25 x 5.5 inches.
I chatted with some of my girlfriends who make cards and I guess this is a normal size....but for me it seems tiny? lol

I embossed the teal and blue cardstock and even decided to go with some quilling for the plants.
The kraft cardstock is torn to appear to look like the sand of the bottom of the ocean.
So my son tells me there are no beta fish in the ocean or sea...thanks son....I chose this image and colored it with yellow stickles because it was a pretty fish... :)

I added clear buttons and tiny pearls to represent bubbles. Also the title I found online...I thought it was really cute. The tiny seashell I colored with copic markers and added diamond glaze with more pearls.
I really am hoping that this little card might be one of the 4 winners at the convention and I can win some $$ for shopping....like I really need to do that! lol
Wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by!
