Heartfelt Wednesday's "Pretty In Pink"

Howdy, Welcome back to this week's Heartfelt Creations Blog post! This is another fun layout that I used with the "My Guy" Collection....except this is very girly......pink pink and more pink!
I used another photo of my girlfriend Crystal....since she is such a southwestern girl, it goes perfectly with my theme... :)
I had to buy the fabulous Martha Stewart Punch for the loops...it is a must for the western look...at least that is what I'm telling myself! lol
I wanted to add some soft doilies with all the flowers and vines. I also made my own patterned paper with the horse stamp "Western Bronco Precut Set"

Here is a close up of the beautiful "Daisy Patch" Flowers and "Daisy Die Cuts", also the tiny "Posy Patch" and "Posy Patch Die"....don't forget the amazing horse "Western Bronco" and "Western Bronco Die"

These boots are just too stinkin' cute! They are from the "Birch Tree" stamps and there is a matching Die cut in the "Western Bronco Die" The title I decided to use pink instead of my traditional browns and blacks. The stamp is really western looking and it is from " Western Bronco" I placed it all on the "Fancy Tags 3" from Spellbinders

This small little patch of grass is from "Scenery Builders" and I just added some Crafter's Cord for a rope on top.....it was a little something extra from HC that came with our stamps....they are so generous! Thanks Linda and Emma!

Just more amazing flowers! I know I have said this before.....but.....I just LOVE to make my own flowers because they always match perfectly because they are from the same paper....gotta love that!

For full instructions be sure to stop by the Heartfelt Creations Blog this week....also don't forget to vote for the new and old DT for the next term!
Have a great day!

Feeling Beachy!

Good evening ladies!
I know it is late in the day, but I wanted to share my beach themed card for this week's Mojo Monday #235. I have been making several kind of vintage feeling cards lately and today I felt like being at the ocean...I'm so ready for a vacation! How about you? I LOVE the ocean and my favorite place to go is Santa Monica, CA. Wish I was there now....well, maybe this summer...
Here is the beautiful sketch by Teresa Kline....thank you!

Here is my beach card...I was trying to think of a good sentiment to give to a friend of mine who loves the beach too. This is what I ended up making on the computer and printing out..I seen this before online...I liked the way it sounded.

The paper are from K & Company " Sea Glass" Collection....it really is perfect for beach cards or scrapbook layouts. I also used my NEW "Zutter Distrezz-It-ALL" from Donna Salazar! Totally amazing and so fast to distress your papers quickly... :) I made the teal flower with "Rose Creations" from Donna Salazar and the green flowers are prima....finally used some again! I also used "Lacey Circles" from spellbinders and MS "Double Loops" Punch.

A super close-up of the flowers and the sentiment. I used 2 different fonts and still love making my own flowers for the perfect color blending!

Hope you feel relaxed enjoying my beach themed card....I can almost hear and smell the ocean....ahhhh!
Have a great night!

Easy Easter Basket Tutorial

Happy Saturday!
Today I was browsing around trying to get an idea for a Easter basket made out of paper. I ran across the Martha Stewart Page and seen a cute little Easter basket. However, it was a bit larger than I wanted so I changed the size around and skipped a few steps to make this basket faster and easier to make. :)

Here is the supplies you will need:
Scoring Board
Paper Trimmer
Scissors or Kraft Knife
Glue
Cardstock: Kraft, White, Green, & Any Color

First, cut a piece of kraft cardstock 6 x 6 inches and score at 2 inches and 4 inches both ways

Next, cut the corners out with a kraft knife or scissors. Then fold edges inwards.

Using the MS garden trellis punch, punch and cut white cardstock, 6 inches x2 and 9 inches x 1

Cut a piece of kraft cardstock, 1 x 6 inches. Then layer 6 inch trellis on top of each other and glue down to the kraft paper. Place aside.

Starting on the top of the edge glue down as you go wrapping the 9 inch piece of trellis all around the box. It will keep the box together.

As you can see there will be an edge. That edge will wrap around the last edge and should line up with the rest of the trellis.

Slightly curl handle and glue in the inside of the basket.

I used my fiskars small flower punch and a vine punch from Punch Bunch, but you can add premade flowers and leaves if you want....I used my scraps.... :) I placed the flowers on the side that has the finished edge and the opposite side.

Here again is the finished baskets. They are really fast to make and perfect for little gifts or table settings. Sorry I don't have any candy in them yet.....soon! You get the idea! lol

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial.....thanks for stopping by!

Easter's On It's Way!

Hello!
Today I was so lucky to have the day off from work that I was able to make this card from this morning's sketch from Verve! It is the start of a new month and someday I hope to win some fabulous stamps from Verve....but meanwhile I will keep making cards with the DT's fabulous sketches.

So here is my card, since "Easter's on its Way" It is really pale in colors but my camera just wants to make it pop! lol The fun rabbit stamp is from Stamps by Judith. I bought this stamp a few years ago, so I'm not sure if she still carries it? Im sure she has other great Easter stamps to choose from though!

Side view...I just love cream colored cards....I cant seem to stop using that color for many of my bases???

Closer view: I used more Cheery Lynn Designs, flourish....and Spellbinders diecuts.

Be sure to get your cards out in time for Easter...it sure will be coming quick like a rabbit!

Upon You

Hi, I finally was able to make this amazing sketch from last week's VLV March 2012 #3.
This sketch came out before St Patty's Day and I really wanted to make it with green and shamrocks, but.....that didn't happen at all.....lol

So here is what I made instead...an inspirational card......I added little doves representing heaven and love. I used my cricut "Serenade" cartridge. They are 1 inch big and I made the eyes using the Liquid Pearls by Ranger.

Side view you can see I used pop dots. I used 2 spellbinders diecuts "Lacey Circles" and "Labels 20" also a little bling.

Here you can see the beautiful inspirational stamp from Heartfelt Creations called "Uplifting Scriptures" I really like this sentiment.

Hope you feel inspired by this lovely phase and God Bless you!
Hugs!

Heartfelt Wednesday's

Howdy!
Here is a card I made with the NEW "My Guy" Collection from Heartfelt Creations! Even though it is toward more of a guy theme...you can make beautiful cards and add flowers for a girl theme too! I wanted to stay with the brown tones for the western feel, but then add a pop of yellow. Daisies are perfect for a western theme. I used "Daisy Patch" diecuts from HC and just added some brads in the center for a bit of bling. For full instructions you can see it at the HC Blog.

Here is a close up shot.....I didnt stamp on the daisies, but you can use the amazing stamp from HC to go with it....here. I recently found these sheer ribbons at the dollar store too....love when you can find a deal!

Have a great day!

Wishing You....

Hi, sorry it has been a few days since I posted... again...I have been busy making projects for DT's...lots to be coming soon.....be sure to come back....
Meanwhile....
I have been missing making my cards for the Viva La Verve sketches! Oh my....goodness! So I was able to make this card for the VLV March #4...I still need to make one for the prior week....plan on doing it tomorrow. :)
Here is the sketch made by the very talented Andrea Ewen...thx sweetie!

I love the basic design because there is soooo many ideas to make with this sketch...
Here is what I made in about 15 minutes.....quick huh? Well, that is because it is really all diecuts and a prima flower that happened to be the last green rose I had left....I recently used one on a card I made for my mother....you can see that post here.

I used the delicate Cheery Lynn Designs "Fanciful Flourish" I cut it up in some areas and glued other parts of the swirls together. Basically, I made two and placed the bottom part on the top too... :)
The spellbinders diecut is Fleur De Lis and I turned it sideways to fit the beautiful sentiment from Heartfelt Creations called "Simple Filler Stems" I used Donna Salazar's Mix'd Media Inx in Denim....It sure was a perfect match! Love when that happens!

Here is a closer view: Instead of using paper I used two matching ribbons to make this card fast and simple....It is clean to me...at least that is what Im telling myself! lol

Thanks for stopping by...Love all your comments!

I layered all kinds of browns and blue jean papers to give this a true guy look. I cant believe I didnt use any flowers, ribbons, or lace! LOL
For the full instructions go to the Heartfelt Creations Blog.

I just LOVE these amazing horse stamps " Western Bronco Precut" and with the "Western Bronco"Diecut it sure makes them a snap to make!

Stars are perfect to use for this rustic, cowboy layout....easy to make the cardboard star look with kraft paper and a crimper.

Spring Flowers

Hi, just sharing a card that I made recently with pink, green and white. I made a Christmas card using these colors...but have decided to keep these colors more for springtime! lol
I used more of the "My Guy" collection stamps from Heartfelt Creations. This little flower is from their "Scenery Builders". It is just the right size to display this flower....this is a 5 x 5 card.

I also used once again my new Cheery Lynn Designs "Fanciful Flourish"....

Here is a close up of the flower stamp from HC.....I added pearls and used colored prismacolor pencils.....someday hope to get to the "Copic" marker stage...but for now, this is good as it gets..... :)

Hope you have a cheerful day!

Donna Salazar's Artistic Papers and Easter Card Tutorial

Hi, I wanted to share with you a Easy Easter Card using Donna Salazar's Artistic Papers from GCD. I absolutely LOVED the creamy colors and with the soft neutral prints, you can add any color you want to them! So, I decided to make this chocolate easter bunny card. As, many of my followers know already, I LOVE CHOCOLATE and well, since Valentine's Day is over now....it's time for Easter and chocolate bunnies! Yum!
This is the card you can make and it only takes 30 minutes...lets get started!
First, you cut medium brown cardstock 5 x 12 inches and fold in half for the base of your card.
Second, cut a darker brown 4.75 inches x 5.75 inches.

Next, cut one of the four pieces on the 12 x 12 cardstock out (6 x 6) and cut that piece into 4.5 inches by 5.5 inches. Take a mask...any kind will do, but I used a prima mask for mine. I then masked using "Donna Salazar's Mix'd Media" in Truffle and dabbled all around the inside and outside of the edges....Don't worry if it doesn't match all perfectly, it gives it a nice vintage/distressed look.

Here is what it will look like after you remove the mask.

Print out a fun chocolate saying about bunnies....I seen this one on line and I changed the font to American typewriter and Scriptina...
"Bunnies are darling. So soft and so small. But I love the chocolate ones best of all!"
Add brown satin ribbon around "Artistic Paper" and tie in a knot, then glue down all layers as shown.
Die cut or fussy cut out the label and place over ribbon with pop dots and the bunny is a free clipart. I changed the size to 2.5 inches tall and printed out on brown cardstock. I cut on the inside of the lines and ran it through the cuttlebug using a floral design to give it a chocolate feel.
Lastly, I added a thin piece of cream ribbon for the bow....that's it! EASY PEESY!

Another view of your finished card....the papers make it all happen...you don't need much to make this card shine!

Here are the products used by Donna Salazar's....if your on a budget these are for sure ones that you must have! You can never have enough creams and brown i think.....lol
