Sympathy Card

Hi,
This morning I made this card for my girlfriend who just recently lost her father at the age of 56....way too young....and I can relate to the feeling of the loss of my father which happened almost 2 years ago...but still is very tender to the heart....
I was looking for a sympathy card over on pinterest, which happens to be a big inspirational place right now...when I seen a card made by...Amy Sheffer with Verve. OMGosh! I totally fell in love and knew that I wanted to make something like it for my friend. It has green...which I was told it was her favorite color by another friend....and all the softness to this card was the look I was hoping for to give to her....thank you AMY!
I used burlap and the cardboard is just Kraft cardstock, distressed and inked then put through my crimper to make it look like real cardboard.
The nest is twine swirled around a few times over and over, glued and added some small vintage pearls in the center. I used some of my heartfelt creations stamps, some old some new. The background paper is from Graphic 45...so soft....love it!
Believe it or not the paper matches the ferns...but here they really pop in color? Its OK though it looks good IRL...

The inside view...the paper is the opposite side of the front paper....
lots of distressing too...

Close up of the stamps from Heartfelt Creations...I'm not a big coloring person...but hope to be someday...meanwhile it worked out well for this sympathy card.... also a closer look at the nest with pearls....the music paper is just printed from the Internet on cream cardstock....no need to buy it....love when its free!

Hope she likes this card...for lots of LOVE went into it.....thanks for the sweet comments!

Guess Whoooo Loves You?

Good Evening,
I made this little 4.25 inches x 3.25 inches card for a challenge over at sb.com....
I was inspired to make the owl from the photo and also my daughter Roxy LOVES owls....for they are wise...like her.... :)
I made it vintage looking and girly all in one...I wanted to add eyelashes but Roxy liked it the way it was already...
I used Spellbinders and Cricut to make the whole card....I added little flowers, pearls, buttons and ribbon. Now that I think about it I could have made it pink....but its cool this way too.
Here is what I used:
Cricut: Eyes: 1 inch circles x 2 in white and cream. .75 inch circle x in brown.
Feet: 1.5 inch hearts x4 in brown, Heart: 1 inch in brown and .75 inch in white then
printed on the computer in 8 font. Nose 1.5 inch triangle in brown. 3 inch circles in
cream for the inside.
Fiskars: small flowers .75 inches
Spellbinders: Labels 1 small, 2nd largest and next size down in blue and cream, Lacey circles in
2nd largest in blue x 2, 3rd largest in cream x 2 and 1 in white (inside) 4th size
in white.

Side view you can see the back a bit.

I even made more lacey circles inside for my journaling to Roxy...she gave me a big hug! :)

Owl be back with more cards soon!

Chocolate Bunny

Happy Saturday....
Well, I have been super busy with lots of DT work lately....but that didnt stop me from getting the new sketch from Verve this week! I changed it to the opposite side...but it is based off the sketch. This week is Clean and Simple....

As you know I have been on a chocolate roll lately and with Easter around the corner I thought of all the Chocolate Easter Bunnies on the shelves....
Well, I kept the base of the card simple and the ribbon takes care of itself...the title is printed from the computer right on the card. The wreath is really easier than it looks...here is the tutorial. For this wreath I used a leaf punch and the tiny flowers are Fiskars small punch. I added pearls in the center...

The chocolate bunny is a free clipart and I just printed it on brown cardstock, fussy cut it out and embossed it with my cuttlebug. I wrapped ribbon around the neck and used pop dots behind the wreath and bunny....

Thanks for stopping by....hope you were inspired by my chocolate bunny too!

Heartfelt Wednesday's

Good Morning,
Today, I'm sharing with you more of the Heartfelt Creations NEW "Floral Cross Collection"
These stamps are so amazing and can be used for so many different religious events.
I have been using greens and yellows sooooo much lately...Don't know why? However, I needed to break the cycle and use some other color quick....I'm sure you all were thinking the same too! lol....I love this teal paper....and it made me think baby! The card was inspired by Andrea Ewen....she makes the most amazing cards....just love her work....stop over to her blog to see for yourself... :)
For the full instructions on how I made this card...go to the Heartfelt Creations Blog.

As you can see here, I made the inside similar for my sentiment. The "Baby's Christening" is Microsoft Word for Mac.

Here is a close up of this gorgeous cross stamp and die cut.... I was so happy that I found the perfect matching colored pencil to color my flowers with....I am also making another card exactly like this one except in PINK for my friends baby.... :) Hope she will love it!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out more designs over at the HC Blog.

Heartfelt Wednesday's

So this week I made 2 cards for Heartfelt Creations. We received an embossing folder with our new "floral Cross collection" from Couture Creations. Everyone was to get a different one and mine happened to be "Heavy Duty"....well, let me tell you how hard that was to make with flowers and I'm sure it looks a bit strange to everyone here.....lol
My thought process was just this:
I was thinking automatically truck...so I went and asked my husband what he thinks about this embossing folder? He says he thought of stairs? So that is where the side step card came into place. I next was thinking "Strength" So it was perfect for this month because we need strength from "God" especially during our losses in our life. So that is the correlation....trucks are tough/strong right? As for the colors, I was also thinking construction colors and of course it is orange most of the time....then for the flowers....tiger lilies...tigers are strong too....anyway, you can see how I came to this whole theme and design...not sure if it makes much sense? but I'm sticking to it....the photos don't give it the right justice...it is much nicer IRL

Here you can the sort-of the inside sentiment. I really tried to get the lighting right? For some reason the camera didn't like me today? Maybe it is the shiny metal paper?

Had fun with this card....be sure to check out the other designs this week at HC Blog.
Come on Mack!

Elegant Roses

Happy Monday,
So last night I made another card inspired by a beautiful card I seen over at Serendipity. I loved the elegant shape....Im not sure if this is how she (Yvonne) made her card shape....but this is how I made mine....
I cut out using my cricut Serenade cartridge...2 4.5 inches, 2 4 inches in white and 2 3.5 inches in cream...I then distressed the cream with brown ink and used my spellbinders labels twenty for the center frame. I also used spellbinders parisian for the corner pieces and added pearls. The stamp is from Heartfelt Creations "Bella Rosebuds" and I have been trying to color a bit more...im such a novice...then added smaller vintage pearls around. The dots are just holes with a pin needle making it appear to look sewn....I dont know how nor own a sewing machine.....someday?

As you can see here on the side i placed the other pieces of paper inside to match the front of the card....I didnt think it needed a title....i liked it just the way it came out. :)

A closer view of the beautiful stamp by Heartfelt Creations! I added ribbon bows to the sides...really easy took about a half hour to make....

Hope you were inspired like I was too!

Just Because...

So I know I just made the tiffany card this morning for my daughter, but as I was making it I remembered that yesterday was the VLV Friday and I had to make another card with this fabulous sketch! I tell, you having a sketch makes cards just so much easier...love it! Here is the sketch for Feb 3rd week. Thank you Laurie!

Here is my interpretation of the sketch....so I layered and layered lots of fun die cuts, lace, flowers and bling....I couldn't help myself.....

Side view of layers and layers....I had such a fun time putting this card together...everything fell right into place!

Close-up of the beautiful diecuts from spellbinders, zva bling and prima flowers... I wanted a basic card saying so that it can be used for anytime....and lately I have also been into the vintage look....been using lots of creams lately.

So after I uploaded the card everywhere....lol...it seemed like something was missing? I think it was more green in the center for 3 trinity circles? Must be my OCD? lol
Here is the finished card....my daughter said she couldn't even tell.....its totally me!

Tiffany (Inspired) Cupcake

Hi,
Today is my oldest daughter's Birthday! She turns 23 today and I wanted to make her a girly card....so I was inspired to make this tiffany cupcake card. Now what girl doesn't love tiffany? lol
I have had this ribbon for a while and it is tiffany colors....so it was perfect to make this fast card for her. The cupcake base is from "sweet treats" cricut cartridge. After I cut out the base I ran it through the crimper to give it the cupcake wrapper. The top of the cupcake is embossed with "D'vine Swirls" from cuttlebug and I just added pearls. No patterned paper for the cupcake speaks for itself. The banner is from spellbinders and I just printed "happy birthday" from the computer. Easy and took only 10 minutes to make. :) Clean and Simple.

Another view: with pop dots too!
Closer view of the pearls and embossing....

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed!

Heartfelt Wednesday's

Hi, welcome to this week's Heartfelt Creations Wednesday post. This new line "Floral Cross Collection" is so great because you can use the flowers for so many things....as you see here....
I wasn't sure on what I wanted to do exactly this week, but my daughter' (Roxy) eyes gave me the colors this week....they are so sooooo green...lucky girl!
For full instructions on how I made this layout go to the HC blog...great ideas and I am always inspired by my fellow DT members! It surely is the best DT to be with...for they are not only amazing designers but the whole company is truly amazing! I'm soooo proud to be part of this team!

Here is a close-up of the beautiful stamps...Im not a big coloring person...wish i was, but as you can see with these stamps you don't have to be a coloring girl....They are beautiful regardless.

More flowers...I love making them.... :)

Remember When...

Hi, I hope everyone had a great weekend...I had lots of scrapping time to make lo's and cards. :)
Here is my card this week using a fabulous sketch from Verve #2 VLVFeb2012. Here is the sketch.

Here is my interpretation of the sketch....so originally I was going to use 2 ribbon pieces but then I wanted to put my title to my card there....so that is how the extra pieces of ribbon ended up on my card. I also have had this flower for a long time and every time i placed it on something it just was too much....it finally was used to make this card complete!
The papers are from K and company and I have had them for a long time too! They really are beautiful for a vintage theme....as for the colors....oh my! I used red! It is my totally favorite color too! Although I don't use it much? lol

I added little bling on the corners, you have to have those old antique pearls for vintage right?

A close-up of the flower...I used 2 different spellbinders and placed a piece of red matching paper between. I glue lace around the back and a double tied ribbon with the flower on top...
Lots and lots of distressing paper gave this vintage card the look i wanted.

Thanks for stopping by....this card reminds me of grandma's old kitchen.... :)

Heartfelt Wednesday's "Floral Cross Collection" Reveal Day

Hi, Welcome to the NEW "Floral Cross Collection" from Heartfelt Creations! This collection is as fresh as a blooming yellow lily on a sunny spring day: intricate flowers compliment the typographical, linear, and wooden crosses. There are 6 new PreCut Stamp Sets and one beautiful new exclusive Spellbinders die designed for Heartfelt Creations.

Leave a comment on the HC blog by February 14 to be eligible to win the entire release valued at $125.93. The winner will be announced on February 15 on the HC Blog.

I used the entire collection to make this First Holy Communion Layout of Roxanne when she was a little girl. I loved the crosses and the beautiful lilies. I went pearl happy on this layout for her dress was full of pearls, lace and satin. She looked like she was getting married. Can you believe this dress only costed me 40.00? It was a like a 200.00 dress that I bought on ebay. :)

I wanted the theme to be yellows and whites with a touch of green. For full instructions go to the Heartfelt Creations Blog. Be sure to leave a comment to get a chance to win this amazing collection too!

As you can see the cross is gorgeous and the Die cut just really makes it pop!

I fussy cut out these delicate leaves and butterfly.

Love the layering of the lilies....I think I was in heaven!

These smaller crosses were just the right touch to make my own patterned paper....the pearls added a little extra something....

Remember "God is with you always" I just loved this part of the stamp but the whole stamp is so heartwarming....
Be sure to see all the other amazing projects with the NEW "Floral Cross Collection"

My First Mojo Monday # 227

Hi, I wanted to share with you my very first Mojo Monday's sketch! I have been making several cards lately and loving several sketches out there. So i thought I would try over at Mojo....since I could always use extra mojo! lol
Here is my card for MOJO....I love that it is black and a very light cream....it gives it a vintage feel to it....I can always use another Thank you card and this one has no flowers on it...but I didnt think it really needed them since the floral paper and bling gave it an elegant look.

I used spellbinders for the title and microsoft word for mac for the fonts. The patterned papers are from Recollections....you can find them at Michael's....and a whole pack is only $4.00....you can make several of these cards for a great price!

Around the title I used some stickles in black

The punch is from Martha Stewart and added some black bling.

Im really looking forward to more sketches with Mojo Monday! Lots of great ideas over there!

Designer Gift Card Purse

Good Morning!
Hope everyone has a safe an fun "Superbowl" day! I watch parts of the game, but I'm not a huge football girl....So I will get the afternoon to play in my scraproom again! :)
Over at scrapbook.com in the challenges this month there is a purse card....so I looked up online to see how to make one...never made one before...I came across Dawn's tutorial at Stampin Up and it is fabulous! You can see it HERE. So I followed the basics of the card and added some extras and tweaked it a bit to make my Coco Chanel inspired Gift Card Purse.
So who wouldn't love to have this purse? lol

I just used my son's family discount card from Target for an example.... :) Maybe a Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom card would be nice? lol

Here is what you need:
Black and White Smooth Cardstock
26 gauge wire-silver
3 pearls
Martha Stewart Scoring Board
Spellbinders-Labels 20
Round Velcro
Black Ribbon
Skewer

First, cut a 6x6 inch cardstock in black and fold in half. Using the largest Labels 20 die cut in black cardstock. Place die cut over the folded black cardstock and mark with pencil where it meets. That will be your line to cut and line up at an angle and cut from pencil line to corner.

Next, cut white paper 5.5 inches x 2.5 inches, follow the same cutting as the black paper. Do this twice. One for the front of the purse and one for the back. Die cut 2nd to the largest Spellbinders Labels 20 in white cardstock. Using the Martha Stewart Scoring Board, place all the pieces of the white cardstock at and angle and score every half inch until you have a criss- cross pattern. If you have the embossing template, that will work too! I don't have it....but it is pretty fast to do by hand if you don't either. :) Also make a score lines on top x 2 about .5 inches apart. (Shown above in black)

Glue White cardstock on the black cardstock as shown in finished card. Leave the top of the purse off until after the handle is done.

Using the 26 gauge wire wrap it around something very thin....I used a skewer for mine. Then wrap black satin ribbon around the wire. Approximately 8.5 inches long, give or take. Punch holes on top of purse and put wired ribbon through each hole and crimp wire together in the center. You should be able to do this with your fingers. Glue down back of purse to the back.

On the inside top place the Velcro and line it up with the bottom...place clear baggie inside for gift card and add 3 white pearls to the front and last but not least the Coco Chanel signature! I used my cricut, George Basics, cut .75 inch "C's" x 2 and glue them together.

This adorable little purse will certainly be the talk of the town....
Hope you enjoyed!
